here's the finished meranti wall bracket, after 3 layers of le tonkinois marine no1 varnish, it took a long time but it was worth it, the hounds tooth dovetail is incredibly strong.
Tucked into a cozy corner of a Tokyo guitar shop, these two Carl Thompson Scroll Basses offer more than jaw-dropping curves—they tell a story of luthiery legend. Known for crafting each instrument by hand in his Brooklyn workshop since the 1970s, Carl Thompson is revered among bass enthusiasts for his boundary-pushing scroll design, distinctive long upper horns, and luxurious tonewoods. The pair on display here—one fretted, one fretless—feature lush cocobolo tops that shimmer under shop lights, contrasting elegantly with the natural mahogany bodies and multi-laminate necks.
The Scroll Bass design is instantly recognizable: part sculpture, part sonic weapon. The dramatic scroll at the upper horn is as functional as it is aesthetic, helping to balance the instrument physically and visually. Today I made my first picture frame, made from quarter sawn beech, finished with shellac sanding sealer then tung oil/turps mix to pop the grain.
This was a present for my brothers cat Penny who sadly died recently, aged 19 years old, it is printed on Hahnemühle Photorag 308 fine art paper and is 8" x 8" size, my first photo print since film days!

Le geometrie del letto Fior di Loto si possono modificare in funzione del momento; la figura del letto può essere modificata attraverso un movimento manuale che permette di ruotare il pianale di 360 gradi.
Realizzato in multistrato, può essere colorato in 46 colori di serie.
II letto inoltre sottolinea gli aspetti legati al concetto di sviluppo sostenibile e rispetto della salute della persona che costituiscono un punto fermo e rilevante nella strategia aziendale Mazzali. In quest'ottica durata, resistenza, basso impatto ambientale, bassa emissione di solventi sono i vettori che hanno dettato lo sviluppo del prodotto.

The geometry of the this bed, designed by Luciano Dalmonego for Mazzali, may be modified to suit the moment, while the figure of the bed may be modified by a manual movement that allows the surface to be rotated 360 degrees.
The industrial project focused mostly on aspects related to the concept of sustainable development and respect for personal well-being that constitute the most relevant strong point of the business strategy. To this view, product lifespan, low environmental impact, and low solvent emissions are the tenets that dictated development.
