According to Wikipedia, the section of the Wall at Mutianyu has the largest construction scale and best quality among all the sections. This pass, consisting of three watchtowers standing on the same terrace and connected on the inside, is a structure rarely seen in the entire Wall. Another unusual feature of this section of the Wall is that there are merlons (solid portions between the openings or crenels) on both the inner and outer sides of the Wall, instead of the typical placement on just the outer wall.

Situated on Sandbanks in Poole in a residential, two-story apartment, this solid oak staircase with cut strings and half landing is an example of one of our smaller projects.
Distinctive 40mm solid oak cut strings on both sides of the staircase support the oak treads and stainless steel rod risers, whilst toughened and laminated glass panelling with a stainless steel handrail create the balustrade.
Kevala Stairs also installed a glass gallery on the top landing, with glass panels attached to the strings and landing with stainless steel fixings.
You'd need dynamite before you could see how these saguaros live, as they're growing through rock, not soil.
Saguaros have a tap root that extends down about 2 & 1/2 feet. It looks like that second saguaro must be about that high above the ground. They also have an extensive root system that's only about 4-6 inches deep; those roots radiate away from the saguaro for a distance roughly equal to its height. That's not very far for these two, which I'd guess are no more than 6-8' tall. Their roots must be located mostly within the rock, at least according to the general rule.
Luckily for these saguaros, rock itself is not "rock solid". I'd guess the main (if not sole) water source for these two is what seeps through the porous rock and is eventually captured by the roots.

Solids are so much fun to play with!!! I used Kona Stone, Kona White, and 14 colors from my Kona Starter Pack.
Still trying to decide how I want to quilt the center. It will likely be squares within squares, but I can't decide how densely I want to quilt it.

I really hated doing the final stage of the Omega Star. These shots are all different views of the same model.
The statue is 3 metres (9.8 ft) tall and weighs 5.5 tonnes (5.4 long tons; 6.1 short tons). (According to another account, the statue measures 3.91 meters from base to top, and 3.10 meters across the lap from knee to knee.) It can be disassembled into nine pieces. The statue was housed in a wat in Ayutthaya until the mid 19th century, and its provenance from Ayutthaya excludes the possibility of it having been made after about 1750.
At US$2,700 per troy ounce, the gold in the statue (18 karat) is estimated to be worth 482 million dollars. The body of the statue is 40% pure, the volume from the chin to the forehead is 80% pure, and the hair and the topknot, weighing 45 kg, are 99% pure gold.
