Walked past this window in Soho, London, and saw a Saul Leiter moment in front of me, so I had to take this shot.
If you aren't familiar with the late, great, American photographer Saul Leiter (December 3, 1923 – November 26, 2013), look him up on line. He's one of my favourites.
And this is the first photo taken in 2023 that I've shown on Flickr.
Not the bohemian London quarter, rather an Alicante bar as only the Spanish know how to put together. Nestled amongst 100 year old ficus trees, just off the main road that bisects the old from the newer quarter.

No apologies for another shot of the SOhO bar.
Say what you like about the Spanish, they do know how to create a great bar with unique atmosphere.

The Soho Loop is a roughly 2 km section of the Old Birmingham Canal Network Main Line, around 1–1.5 miles North West of Birmingham city centre. It originally opened in 1769, when Birmingham's canals followed a much more winding route.
The big change came with Thomas Telford's New Main Line Canal. In the 1820s, he constructed a much straighter, wider canal route to handle increasing industrial traffic leaving northwards from the city. When the new route opened in 1827, it effectively cut across the old canal, leaving the Soho Loop as a surviving section of the original route.
Many of the cobblestones in New York are being paved over, but some still remain as relics of old New York. Even though they are in quite a bad state of disrepair, the old cobblestones in SoHo are lovely and romantic.
Circular oasis amid the 100 yr old Ficus trees and sited just off the main drag in Alicante city centre.

Finally had a chance for a little photo walk through Soho today :-)
I have another shot from the photoshoot with Mona, but I'll upload that later...time to shake things up a bit...
