While in northern MN this fall, we went to a favorite gathering place for moose…best to see them in fading daylight. So we stayed and watched, then traveled on the nearby primitive road where we had seen moose before..but it wasn’t to be this time.

I settled for this soft reflective scene.

Evolution of the thread spool. Wood Spool/Plastic Spool. Remember when spools of thread came on something worth it? You could keep the spool and reuse it. Nowadays they come on a cheap plastic that hardly lasts until you're done using the thread!

I thought I'd try drawing/colouring with soft pastels. I'm thinking a beach scene.

Yummy little blueberry cake donut hole. It was my husband's idea to take a small bite out of it, for added interest of course, hehe.

I am trying a different processing, venturing out of the one LR preset I made and play with. Now I have two presets I can play with. Haha! This one isn't my normal matte, deep shadows and muted tones. Not sure what I think of it yet. It sort of looks out of place in my stream.....maybe?

L is for the way you look at me

O is for the only one I see

V is very, very extraordinary

E is even more than anyone that you adore can

Love is all that I can give to you

Love is more than just a game for two

Two in love can make it

Take my heart and please don't break it

Love was made for me and you

Happy Macro Monday!

PS I wanted to say, for your information, it is not easy to shape thread into a heart! I had to use a glue stick to get it to stay. It did not agree with me at all! Hahaha!

Yes, I know this one is a bit darker than I normally go, but I felt inspired to do something moodier today. We all have a darker side. We all feel lost sometimes. I felt I needed to express that...you're NOT alone. You are never ever alone.

I wanted to share that my husband made me the table top out of pallets, bless his heart. :) I did a wash on it with a marine blue (as to keep the grain visible) and then I dry brushed some white on top to give it a beachy vintage feel. I am toying with the idea of making some more back drops as well. I saw online that people were making them out of closet doors, the shutter looking kind. I thought that might have a nice shabby chic sort of look. I am still debating on the project. I figure though, what could I lose doing it? :)

I wasn't sure what to do for this. It has been chaotic at my house since we have been trying to pack and move. This is what I was able to come up with. I apologize for how boring this is, haha. Happy Halloween anyhow! :)

I was really inspired by this coming Macro Monday so I wanted to do a still life for this challenge also. I took several marco's as well for this challenge and may end up posting some different variations like Silke does. ;)

This shot was inspired by one of my most beloved singers, Bing Crosby. I think I was born in the wrong era. Haha! :)

Why think separately of this life and the next when one is born from the last....

Time is always too short for those who need it, but for those who love, it lasts forever.

The latest #macromondays challenge #Pastel prompts me to share this picture with you.

Pastel tones are a range of soft, light colors that have a low saturation or intensity. They are often described as delicate, muted, and soothing. Pastel colors are created by adding a large amount of white to a pure hue, resulting in a lighter and less vibrant version of the original color.

Here are some commonly recognized pastel tones:

Baby Blue: A pale, soft blue reminiscent of a clear sky on a sunny day.

Mint Green: A light, cool shade of green with a hint of blue, similar to the color of mint leaves.

Lavender: A pale, light purple shade with a touch of pink, reminiscent of lavender flowers.

Pale Pink: A gentle, soft pink hue that evokes a sense of sweetness and innocence.

Lemon Yellow: A light, muted yellow color resembling the pale shade of a ripe lemon.

Peach: A warm, soft orange-pink color reminiscent of the flesh of a peach.

Dusty Rose: A muted, slightly grayish shade of pink, often associated with vintage or antique aesthetics.

Lilac: A pale, light purple color with a slight blue undertone, similar to the color of lilac flowers.

Pale Yellow: A very light, delicate shade of yellow, resembling the softness of a spring daffodil.

Seafoam Green: A pale, greenish-blue color inspired by the hues of the ocean foam.

Pastel tones are commonly used in various fields, including fashion, interior design, graphic design, and art. They are known for creating a calming and soothing atmosphere and are often associated with femininity, innocence, and nostalgia. Their gentle and subtle nature allows for easy blending and harmonious combinations, making them popular choices for creating soft and harmonious color palettes.

Lavender is the Gemini Flower Sign for those Born May 20 - June 20.

If you are a lavender flower sign you freckle your landscape with beautiful ideas. You love to share these ideas with other people and get more new insights as you do so. You are expansive in your expressions, and you always seem to be able to find your muse. You are amazingly productive, creative and have an active mind. Sometimes you feel pulled in too many directions, but part of the lavender's beauty is that it spreads itself far and wide for all to enjoy.

Trying to find some inspiration and perhaps a second wind. I thought, I have been pretty tired so why not take a picture of my bed? It works for me! :) I love finding inspiration in the strangest things.

The Venal Muse

Oh Muse of my heart — so fond of palaces old,

Wilt have — when New-Year speeds its wintry blast,

Amid those tedious nights, with snow o'ercast,

A log to warm thy feet, benumbed with cold?

Wilt thou thy marbled shoulders then revive

With nightly rays that through thy shutters peep?

And — void thy purse and void thy palace — reap

A golden hoard within some azure hive?

Thou must, to earn thy daily bread, each night,

Suspend the censer like an acolyte,

Te-Deums sing, with sanctimonious ease,

Or as a famished mountebank, with jokes obscene

Essay to lull the vulgar rabble's spleen;

Thy laughter soaked in tears which no one sees.

We went out this past weekend, to try and decompress. My dad was doing better and now again is back in the hospital. God definitely has plans for us that we do not expect.
