Kinderdijk is a village in the Netherlands, belonging to the municipality of Molenwaard, in the province South Holland, about 15 km east of Rotterdam. Kinderdijk is situated in a polder in the Alblasserwaard at the confluence of the Lek and Noord rivers. To drain the polder, a system of 19 windmills was built around 1740. This group of mills is the largest concentration of old windmills in the Netherlands. The windmills of Kinderdijk are one of the best-known Dutch tourist sites. Hi there!

I definitely prefer a manual treatment for HDR. Lately, I've been stopping using Photomatix Pro to merge my different exposures and get a high dynamic range photo. Now, I load them into a stack in Photoshop and manually merge my exposures to get a more natural feel in my picture. I think that this way the picture looks much more like how my eye saw the scene when I took it.

I took this picture on the Westminster Bridge last week while it was snowing in London. I took 6 RAWs with my Canon 5D MarkII and the 24-105 f/4 IS USM. I focused on the snowy bridge so the background is a bit out of focus (not much because I was shooting at only 24mm) but I like the effect it gives here.

I hope you'll like it, please leave me even a small comment, it really helps!! If you can tell me how to improve, better than better :)

A group of skaters stop at the Beavertails Pastry on the Rideau Canal Skateway in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada in enjoy a favorite Canadian sweet, Beavertails.

For those who remember, Beavertails were served in Epcot at the Canada pavilion. The sweet treat disappeared from there a few years ago. So, you can image my delight in finding them right on the canal ice.

I really suffered to shoot this picture from my last week stay in London.

-4ºC, windy on a bridge with the freezing Thames underneath!

I took 6 RAWs that I blended together manually to have this soft HDR rendering.

A quite long exposure (30sec) to get the nice water reflexions and a still water texture (I could then maximize the reflections) and several underexposed shots to get all the details on the buildings. The tricky part of this shot is that I was taking the pictures from the Millenium Bridge, which very light, narrow and moving while people where passing by! I got a shots slightly blurry because of this even with my backpack serving as a counterweight. I had to stay for a very long time on this freezing bridge!! I hope you like it!
