NASA held a public viewing of SOFIA, the modified 747 with a 2.5 meter mid-infrared telescope riding inside. This is a billion dollar project, with a specially modified aircraft that actually opens the telescope to the air at high altitude to get above most of the atmosphere that blocks mid-infrared wavelengths from the ground. You can see the huge skeleton of Hangar 1 in the background.

i bought sofia new earphones (my 3rd for her in her 3 years), wall adaptor, USB/data cable and a traveler adaptor (plugged in my car).

i saw these adaptors on sale last friday whilst i'm having a date with myself. cos the charger (USB/data cable) that comes along with sofia when i bought her is already broken.

Posted description on unitedwedream.org/sofia-campos-board-chair-bostoncalifornia/: Born in Lima, Peru and raised in Los Angeles, California, Sofia became involved in the immigrant youth movement through Improving Dreams, Equality, Access, and Success (IDEAS) at UCLA in 2007. While in school, she taught UCLA’s first ever “Undocumented Student Experience” seminar and organized for the California DREAM Act, the federal DREAM Act, and the Right to Dream campaigns. In June 2012, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) was announced as a result of our immigrant youth led organizing and to date, over half a million immigrant youth have benefited from this legal relief.

After graduating, Sofia became Project Coordinator at the UCLA Labor Center’s Dream Resource Center where she led the national book tour for Undocumented and Unafraid: Tam Tran, Cinthya Felix, and the Immigrant Youth Movement and the nation’s first CDF Freedom School utilizing a popular education curriculum focused on immigrant rights and identity. She is Board Chair of United We Dream, the first and largest network of undocumented immigrant youth, and a Master’s student in City Planning at MIT. Sofia is a commitment to building a sustainable, transformative social justice movement for the sake of our beloved community and liberation.
