This is Simon, my son-in-law, who thought it would be so easy to paddle board. Well, to be fair he did get out there and had a go but just couldn't keep it going .... this was a little movement that he didn't expect!!

It looked so amazing I had to try it already. So easy and wonderfully good.

Was part of the training today...It may be A vOLVO chassis and we may have driven them but these are different . The Wheelchair lift is also different to what i am used to but soeasy to use. MD15 FN62CME a Volvo B9R / Caetano Levante C48FTL. Photo taken in the yard 10/09/13

This lovely young lady asked me if I could take some head shots of her, it is always a pleasure working with someone who appreciates what you are doing and it helps when you are this good looking. Thanks for this Zoha and Thanks to Colette for the assistance.

This window is in the tiny hall coming from the rest of the appartment, and leading to the toilets & bathroom.

There are light curtains on that window, but no shutters. I thought that once the light is on, inside, you can see us, like with shadow puppets ... see what I mean ? So I cut quickly some paper & taped them ... and I think it looks nice.

My current obsession is the night timelapse setting on the GoPro, because star timelapses are endlessly fascinating to me. And living at the end of a mostly unlit street with woodland behind our house, we normally have outrageously starry skies at Maple Hoo. So for the last three nights I've set the camera out on the garden fence with variable results. The first night I failed to actually use the night lapse setting, so that was a fail. The second night there weren't very many stars. And the third night there were even fewer stars. Hm. I shall persevere, and make an awesome star lapse video at some point. Mark my words!

In the meantime, this is the best of the three videos, by virtue of the flight path from the Trenton airport going over our yard and that little bit of clouds in the middle of the shoot. Was this actually shot on October 19? Um... ::shifty eyes:: But in our eighth 365, the fact that we shot exactly the same thing with a less interesting sky on the day of makes this close enough to count.

Meanwhile, as Mondays after vacation go, this one really wasn't so bad.

When we got back from the concert last night we were taken aback by how bright the stars were. So we planned to try another starlapse video today, to see if we could capture the amazing night skies at Maple Hoo. Aaaaaand... it ended up being cloudy. Of course. But whatever, it's a Thursday night so no one wants to take pictures or video, so this will have to do.

this is amazing

you put a row of little seeds in some compost

let it rain on them

and a few weeks later

there are radishes

This year, I finally carved a pumpkin again.

And then we roasted the seeds, with smoked paprika and ginger, plenty of salt.

So good.

And now we have plans for something else with these.

ok, as we all know, there are 487 fabulous things about flickr. but right near the top of that list is the people. and because of this silly little site, i've found myself traveling to new places -- chicago, north carolina, toronto -- simply to see people i'd never met, so we could talk, commune, and walk around shooting the shit out of the world around us.

and that is a beautiful, beautiful thing.

My lunch from a few days ago. Craving it now.

My new favorite breakfasts EVAH

Homemade yogurt (warm milk, two heaping Tbls live yogurt, a thermos, and 8 hours - SoEasy!), flavored with the scrapings of one giant vanilla bean and lightly sweetened with agave syrup.

On the left: PYO raspberries (we picked these today! just before the car exploded!) w/sugar and just the teeniest touch of spiced rum.

On the right: Strawberries w/sugar, fresh crushed basil, and a drop or two of white balsamic vinegar.

I have 3 of each, and I see a lot of these (or similar) getting made this summer. Peaches and mint, anyone? Blueberries and lime?

Always nice to catch some little raindrops on the flowers in the garden! Especially after the last few days of sunshine and after I soaked the garden last night!!

We did get some rain this morning but now it looks like the sun is coming back! Always, so easy to grab a shot in the garden!

I am still amazed how easy it is to bake bread. Simply love it ;-)

My new hairstylist is pretty good at convincing me to do new and shorter things every time I go in, and I kind of like it. I'm theoretically growing my bangs out, although you wouldn't really know based on this photo.

throw all the ingredients into the slow cooker, turn it on low and by the time I get home at the end of the day dinner is ready!!

The first year was mainly spent in paper work/planning permission. We used this time to try out ideas, here was our first compost toilet in the nissan hut. What a revalation soeasy and pleasent to use

Lulu is a knitted bunny toy that is matched with a blanket, sold for about $35 at Baby Kingdom, which has been one of my favourites recently. I am a Grade-A VIP there, which just means I've spent more than $1000 there so I can get 10% discount for all full priced items (which probably has a 75% mark up anyway...)

I went into my usual shop that develops my film and Marcus the shop assistant remembered my name. I must be one of very few people who get their film developed there. The shop doesn't have a lab anyway, so they send the film to a nearby pro lab.

This lens renders very unique and interesting background blur.

So far these are the best new cookie recipe we've tried this Christmas season. Chocolate Chip and Peppermint Crunch Crackles. They are made especially delicious and easy by the fact that you can buy pre-crushed peppermint from Bakers Catalog. It's our new favorite ingredient!
