I had to use a higher ISO than I like to with my camera so this one is a little soft from the noise reduction. However I couldn't have gotten the shot like I did of this great egret at high island rookery with thisbeautiful sky without it being that high

This palm tree has totally rejuvenated itself, we all thought it might be dead after the freaky winter freeze storm that hit our area earlier this year.
The gulls take to the sky for a little lake shore fishing. The distant clouds are moving in slowly since no wave action, and just enough light so no lights on in he lighthouse!
Another Lake Michigan Lighthouse (South Haven, MI).
Looking up from the fields surrounding my caravan into the sky on day one of my week away in (Looe, South-East) Cornwall.

My last memory of true magic of winter, in the breathtaking German mountains, on a very cold, but fine day
Photographed from Zugspitze
My husband and I recently took a trip to Steamboat Springs, Colorado. On the trip back home the wind was blowing pretty hard and was kicking up snow and producing these really cool images. It still amazes me how much just converting an image to black and white can change the overall photo!
P.S. This was taken through a windshield going about 70mph!

Powering the train is the interesting consist of EMD SD50F No. 5450 leading a trio of former CN SD40s now owned by Alstom, but still lettered GEC Alsthom Transport, and rebuilt into SD40-3s. CN’s Cisco Bridge is 247 meters (810 feet) long and 67 meters (220 feet) high, and also crosses over the parallel Canadian Pacific main line.

A particular characteristic of many vultures is a bald head, devoid of normal feathers. Although it has been historically believed to help keep the head clean when feeding, the bare skin may play an important role in thermoregulation.
Vultures have been observed to hunch their bodies and tuck in their heads in the cold, and open their wings and stretch their necks in the heat. #HSS #sundaysliders #sliderssunday
The beautiful frigate bird is often seen flying high in the skys. He gets his food from other birds such as gulls and also will feed on small fish that are near the top of the water. They never actually land on the water. Fascinating birds to see and wonderful to photograph especially during the courting season when the male's pouch inflates and becomes a vibrant red color.. Very handsome indeed.
Wishing you all a beautiful and blessed evening !!!!
An airplane happened to be in the sky. Photographed in the Northeast and Yilan Coast National Scenic Area.

I'm so drawn to birds in flight. I think that is because they are symbolic for me of freedom and spiritual ascension.
I've used the central part of Nesster's TTV to enhance the light. Many thanks Nesster!
This one surprised me, flew overhead at a nearby lake. Turned around at the perfect moment, focus locked, and boom. One of my favorites ever.

This image was started a long time ago. I took the sunset with my 300mm lens back in July 2013, but was never happy with it due to ugly power lines silhouetted by the sun. I cloned those out, but still discarded the image. Then, still some time ago, I took some shots of a starling murmuration and now this is the resulted composite. HSS, and hopefully this is a welcome break from all the wintry weather some of my Flickr friends are suffering.
