through the kitchen window, during last week's storm
all those trees were once our Christmas tree - HTMT!
A new Christmas ornament- a snow lantern with Santa. It lights up, has a snowstorm and plays some christmas songs
she was not chained, but tangled
in the fur of his kisses or the stickyness of his glances
it turned her fingertips red and made her eyes squeeze
their world was a tropical snowglobe with a little boat that tumbled around their sky
and she lapped against the plastic like a tide
looking up at him with forgiving eyes.

I wonder if the snow loves the trees and fields, that it kisses them so gently? And then it covers them up snug, you know, with a white quilt; and perhaps it says, "Go to sleep, darlings, till the summer comes again.

Taken in the ruins of a fort, the smudges are the stars blurred out by the lens. Not an effect I was actually going for, if it hadn't been cloudy on and off I'd have stuck it out and done star trails - but this has actually worked quite nicely so I don't feel like I missed out.
Left out in the cold overnight, my crystal ball accreted bits of frost on the surface, making the scene 'inside' look interesting, reminding me of those little snow globes children love to shake.
Scenes in crystal balls are inverted, so I inverted the photo.

Those snowflakes drifting softly to the ground, elevating our spirits. I had been hoping to capture an image which could portray the feeling. The choice of high ISO is deliberate ofcourse, my attempt at trying to replicate a snowglobe.
Part of the Christmas day dinner table centerpiece decoration that Caroline put together. Every year she creates a new tableau for us to enjoy as we gather around the table. This year she utilized several holiday themed snow globes accumulated over the years that took us down a fun memory filled lane.

Haven't quite cleared my backlog of 365 photos yet, but it's so snowy here I really had to stick this up! Just not used to this sort of weather in England!

In reply to the questions about how this was done, it's a series of wide angle photos taken using a tripod and then stitched together by computer wizardry. Oh, and it needed a bit of cloning to fill in a small hole in the middle where my photos didn't quite overlap. I wondered about leaving it as a normal panorama, but decided that this would be way more fun!
My son Daniel and I made a snow globe this week. I had the perfect jar! The little house inside is a polymer clay house I made based on a beautiful drawing made by my son Israel when he was 4. You can fin instructions on how to make a snow globe here.
