Ich weiß ich weiß - Fotos in dermaßen schlechter Qualität haben auf Flickr eigentlich nichts verloren. Leider hatten wir nur ein altes Iphone am Start, als wir letztes Wochenende auf diese Fotoidee gekommen sind. Bei der aktuellen Schneelage in den Alpen bleibt einem wohl auch nichts anderes übrig als das Ganze mit Humor zu nehmen....

The Snowboard Intro Class is held in the Snow Arena (snow simulators) at Trifecta, Exeter Road.

Some of you might know that I go snowboarding almost every year in the Alps, sometimes even twice.. visiting France and/or Austria! What almost nobody except my childhood friends knows, is the fact that when I was young kid, I had a skateboard! :)
Back then I didn't wear red Steven Madden pumps with a 5 inch heel, so I thought it would be fun to do a photo-shoot with a half-pipe to do just that! Not that skate-boarding needs glamour, though. :-P
For those wondering how I got up to that steep ramp, I will confess.. I cheated! I took off the heels, and climbed up rather ungraciously barefoot. The sun had been shining all day, so the half-pipe was really hot.. and I had to climb up real quick before my feet got cooked. :P

I also have to try snowboarding in ”Winter Wonderland” which was much more fun than ice skating. There was a fairly long snowboard course with a lot of curves and slopes around the area, which was quite difficult at first, but after a couple of laps it went better. You had to borrow a rather funny type of snowboard with a small jet engine in the back that helped to get up the speed to really fast!

Endlich ist mein nächstes H0-Figuren-Projekt fertig: Der Nivea Snowboard-Weltcup, live im Miniaturformat! 🏂
Die Idee kam mir, als ich in einem Modellbau-Laden kleine Snowboard-Figuren von Firma Noch entdeckt habe. Perfekt für eine Winter-Szene! Dazu eine Nivea-Cremedose – und schon war die Piste für einen Mini-Weltcup geschaffen.
Mit dem Zeigefinger habe ich eine geschwungene Spur in die Creme gezogen, die Snowboarder strategisch in Position gebracht und ein tapferes Fernsehteam am Rand aufgestellt, bereit, live von der "Veranstaltung" zu berichten. Ein bisschen Beleuchtung – und fertig war das Foto!
Klein, aber oho! Ich hoffe, es zaubert euch genauso ein Lächeln ins Gesicht wie mir!
I had the opportunity to participate in something I really enjoy on January 8th and 9th at Big Boulder resort in the Poconos. The RedBull East Coast Team Challenge. Teams from all over were there to compete. The photography workshop was coordinated with Catherine Nieves who rounded up Tim Zimmerman and Dano Pendygrasse to assist with snowboard photography technique. Nikon provided D200 cameras along with 12-24mm and 18-200mm lenses for those lucky enough to have signed up in time to receive them. I missed out on the D200 but had plenty of fun with my D70.

Apparently she's very good at snowboarding because she didn't even need to put down her hot chocolate cup :-) Not a drop was spilled!
The minifig is from the Build a Minifig stand at the LEGO Store except for the snowboard which I think was in the BAM stand a couple years ago?
I'm dreaming of cooler weather... it's going to be 90 degrees (F) this weekend. Ugh!
