One of the best things about going home for the holidays is getting time to do some of the things, like grabbing my board and testing my apparating skills up to the top of the mountain to enjoy the fresh powder from the snow that started last night.

The winter storm a couple of weeks ago dropped enough snow on Boston that I encountered several snowboarders riding down the streets of the city while I wandered around snapping photos. It's definitely not the usual thing I see in Boston on a Sunday night, but I appreciated the opportunity to practice sports photography in unusual conditions.

I bought this snowboarding penguin at Pier 1 imports because he looks so happy. Pier 1 is a national chain store that sells decorative accessories. When my sister-in-law in New York posted a shot on facebook of their Christmas tree I noticed she has the same penguin.

For the All New Scavenger Hunt #10 - Scarf. If I happen to find a real person wearing a scarf before the end of the hunt period, I may change this one.
