I have seen (and posted) a number of these small (around 8 mm) snails this Winter. I like the colour contrasts in this one today.

It was very cold today. The birds were sitting in the Maple trees all puffed up trying to keep warm. I loved how this came out! Thank You For All Your Fabulous Comments!!!

This new sandbank has appeared lately at low tide and the resident harbor seals are taking full advantage of it for communal snooze time.

Sandpipers taking a nap.... just looking at this now, it needed a fifth guy right in the middle where there is a gap.... I should of photoshopped one in. lol!! Too late now

Research has been done and it seems elephants in captivity tend to sleep longer and laying down.

In the wild an elephant can go days without having a lay down deep sleep. They will sleep standing up but in captivity they nod off for a good 4 to 6 hours daily.

Feeling secure while surrounded by twenty or more mallards this pintail duck was catching some Z-z-z-z's. His eyes were open/shut about 50% of the time while I was there.

 

During winter months the sun light is softer and more delicate. The setting sun here makes it even more so.

This calf has found a cosy place to snooze: just between the bum of one cow and the neck of another ... it made me smile!
