One year ago I was on holiday in Nippon. These are some photo's of exactly one year ago.
2nd day Kyoto. 2nd event was the Kinkaku-ji, Temple of the Golden Pavilion or the Rokuon-ji, Deer Garden Temple. This was not nice. I arrived by public bus and at the same time a couple of tourbuses arrived. Took a sprint and I didn't have to stand in line to get a ticket but then the entire place was flooded with people.
The place is beautiful. The weather was great. Great light on the temple but..... it could have been much better. With big crowds I just want to get out.

Into the city on Tuesday to pick up friends at the airport. No traffic going in and I was able to run a couple of errands before heading out to meet them. Not much in the way of photo ops all day. Best I got was this one of two school girls checking their hair and makeup while waiting for the bus.
We went into Panama City on Wednesday with a long list of things to do. We'd heard that traffic was horrendous the day before, due in part to preparations for the upcoming Carnival celebrations beginning this weekend.
Luckily we found traffic to be "normal" and were able to get to everything on our list.
I spotted these two Police Women taking a break on the side of the street while stopped for a light.
I left my D300 ay home today as I was unfamiliar with the parking at the clinic and did not want to be carrying it with me to the Dr. Instead I brought my Coolpix 8800. Turns out I made a wise decision as after the consultation I had to go over to the attached hospital for X-rays.
One thing I had forgotten was how easy it is to take take sniper shots with a small camera. Unfortunately I was a bit flustered and very hungry by the time we got lunch and forgot to adjust the camera settings for indoors. The result is this slightly blurry of this beautiful young lady seated across from us at the Crepe & Waffle House. And yes, that is an ice cream cone over her left shoulder.
Down in Coronado on Thursday with my sniper lens taking photos of this and that. I was across the street in the parking lot of a new group of stores, somewhat elevated and shooting with impunity when these young ladies walked by. They were four of them with three totally oblivious of me but not so number four who made eye to lens contact at the perfect moment.
I've bought, I don't know, half-a-dozen cameras or more from this shop. For my own use, for friends, for the offices I worked in. It's always Joshua who I go to. Nice chap, helps you out, and is now helping me with my own DSLR move.
Down the mountain playing with my sniper lens in a new mall when these four young ladies strolled by. Three were oblivious but number four shot me some daggers at the perfect moment.

A rare Saturday trip into the city to pick up some friends who arrived back in town late last night.
While Joyce was picking up her airline tickets for a conference in San Diego next month I was observing this young officer keeping a sharp eye out for the public safety.
This gentleman is often seen sitting outside the El Rey supermarket in Coronado selling his fruit.
Today he is offering (from left to right) cooked Pixbae, oranges, and pineapples. Above the cardboard are limes and in the bottles are Nance Berries. To the right of the pineapples are uncooked pixbae still on the branches.
Just a typical Thursday afternoon at the Bejuco Mens' Club as a few of the boys rotate their heads to take in the sites.
Now, Are they thinking; "Hmm her outfit is the same color as the windows" or
"Oh, hot pink to match my eyes."

Every morning the local fishermen bring their catch into a cooperative on the beach and the restauranteurs are down there bright and early.
Was in the city all day today but didn't really get anything worthwhile until we turned off the highway in Bejuco to head up the mountain.
This guy was just sitting there with his beer contemplating life.

The boys at the Bejuco Men's Club are starting to recognize my car. I got waves and hellos when I turned the corner by their hangout and also down the street where I was hoping to get a shot of an old guy sitting on the wall.I had to exit to the highway and come back in again and settle down in another spot.
Gonna have to start using Joyce's car if I want to continue my sniper work. I thought about buying a few small bottles of Seco for the guys but it just doesn't seem like the right thing to do.
