Lots of small snail on the Oak leaves yesterday. I didn't notice the damage to this one until I was processing the image.
This snail is about 5 mm (0,2"), it balances on a blade of grass.

This is one beautiful bird that you don't see very often. I believe it's on the endangered list and its main food is Pomacea snails.
Thanks so much for the visit!

France to put an end to the lockdown on Monday May 11th : don't you see that I'm champing at the bit ?
Found this little fella under a pile of old plant pots. At first I thought it was just a lovely empty shell but soon a little head popped out to see what was happening. After having his photo taken the tiny snail was gently put back where he was found.

We all own a few objects that for various reasons have a special meaning to us. This snail I bought more than 20 years ago in Madrid.
Stopped to take a photo of this cool snail at a timeshare resort on the Kona Coast, Kona Kailua, Big Island of Hawaii.
This Snail Kite was practically posing for us!. We found him by a bridge in about the same place we had found him a previous year. It just goes to show how important the enviroment is. We you remove vegetation and change the environment you may affect more than you think...
The Everglade snail kite is a federally endangered species, endemic to south and central Florida. It is an extreme prey specialist in that it only eats apple snails using its highly specialized beak and talons to grasp and remove the snail from its shell. The bird here is eating an invasive channeled apple snail, which is invading Florida wetland systems. The channeled apple snail is much large than the native Florida apple snail and is a much more prolific breeder. The pink clusters on the vegetation on which the bird is perched are channeled apple snail egg clusters which each contain hundreds of tiny pink eggs.
