Forest fires in Washington and Oregon spread their way over into Wyoming.

The craziest most apocalyptic scene I've ever seen. Dark clouds, mixed with smoke, and the sun trying to come out. Note, this was between one and two in the afternoon. The smoke actually got worse a little while later.

This morning, there was a mix of fog and the ever-present smoke. Made a nice atmosphere.

Another excellent display of Alco diesel power is presented to railfans lined up at Macs Lane just north of Meadville. With this being the final shot for most of the chasers, it sure was a nice ending to a long day. The MLW M636s were used to take 120-some storage coal cars to Meadville, a move similar to the eastbound trip of these cars also used this power set back in May of this year.
