20 years ago today with a little canon ixus i took this with a little fill flash on the beach at our kids house at Bowness on Solway.

It was the first picture I put on flickr.That was the start.

1300 pictures stored later and a load of lovely folk with me some gone some just drifted to a distance but all part of the Flickr story and one I’d not part with.

It tells a photographic journey.My getting out at 3am to shoot the dawn my fixation with borders and the growing up of little Iyaz always my willing model.

All the pictures I’ve had exhibited and published are somewhere in this body of work so have a wander through.

We got lucky with the MA Evans Bedfords, but less so with the T Williams ones, which both became swamped with passers-by on arrival - and there were a lot of them wandering all over the bus station back then !

A800 SMB was Williams' final new purchase in late 1983, and their final Bedford, and their final bus - in fact, only two used coaches were bought in the 20 years between the arrival of this one, and the owner's retirement in 2004. In 2005, it escaped to East Anglia, where Bedfords were always welcomed, and had short spells with Fowlers and Dews at Somersham, but it was scrapped in 2008.
