The veil of night removed, now replaced with an ashen cloak of fog and mist. The Fall colors lay dormant and subdued out on a familiar vista while a stump of an old forgotten tree sits amid an alien landscape. The rolling low hanging clouds, a virtual lullaby for the senses.
My friend Mama who took over our old garage to den and have her babies last summer has now decided to spend her winter slumber in the garage this year too. This was shot last June.
Slumber on,
slumber on, you sleepy Summer babies.
Slipping gently through my garden on a hot Summer's day.
Slowly creeping from leaf to leaf.
Jumping along the jungle limbs of your tiny precious world.
A hard day's work brings sustenance for your soul.
While mother nature soothes you onward,
weaving her sunny warm blanket.
Slumber on, you sleepy babies.
Slumber on and dream of tomorrow.
A delightful catch from my garden as the baby lizards roam along on a warm Summer's day.
this is a small volcano in the middle of a lake. it has been quite quite for sometime now, but recently shows traces of activity!
Up before dawn for some magic hour photography in Manarola. The fishing boats are still sound asleep, tired from the previous hard day's work.
The spiny top of this section of Oregon's Smith Rock reminds me of a dragon's back. Frozen in time. As the evening darkens the imagination can wander....

Here's another shot of the sun setting over Coombes Valley on 28th Dec 2015.
The log pile seemed a nice foreground to the sunset; the logs seem all settled down for the night and therefore the title slumber seemed right not only for the sleepy theme found in the end of the day but also the word lumber (timber) is found in the word slumber so it's kind of a word play.
I used three different exposures for this image - one each for the sky, floor and logs. The only thing is, I used one of the logs to support the camera knowing I may not get an exact alignment - which is what happened - but that very slight misalignment added a certain extra element of dreamy fantasy to it (which as we know is a bit of a trademark of mine)

It didn't come to as much today as the 'Beast from the East' title would suggest - though it was pretty cold. This was shot at sunset as the Beast laid down its head for the night......
