Sometimes I see potential in a photo for these effects. Sometimes I just go willy nilly and see what happens. Sometimes I just put the photo in the trash and start over.
This is done using a layer mask and blur effect in Photoshop Elements.

There are moments that you wish to never end. This was one such situation.
The view was beautiful, with the amazing blue of the sea contrasting with the variegated green tones on land and all of it was covered by fantastic cloud formations, creating a unique atmosphere that was reinforced by the absence of any sound or movement.

A better shot than a previous capture, but I have been struggling to get sharp pictures in low light situations as of late. Try, try again as they say....
Wikipedia: The grey-headed canary-flycatcher (Culicicapa ceylonensis), sometimes known as the grey-headed flycatcher, is a species of small flycatcher-like bird found in tropical Asia. It has a square crest, a grey hood and yellow underparts. They are found mainly in forested habitats where they often join other birds in mixed-species foraging flocks. Pairs are often seen as they forage for insects by making flycatcher-like sallies and calling aloud. Several subspecies are recognized within their wide distribution range.

The rain was very close , but so was the sun that was to follow, so just turn your back, and wait for the show to start. What a situation is an old reggae track by Slim Smith, and is fine as i always seem to relish situations like these.
Self-Reflection
I’ve often found myself forcing situations or looking back in shoulda- coulda- woulda mode. These past few years have taught me that life is way too short for regrets, and it’s so much easier to allow things to flow naturally. Thus, although I may lead my life’s direction, with ample time for reflection, that does not impede my ability to function. My caravan seems aligned for the future, but I’ll always look for opportunity in the outliers. With back to the mirrors, I forge ahead into the unknown, storms ominously brewing behind me. See, we never know when the storms will come, but we can rest assured that they won’t last forever.

I was surpised to see how comfortable this guy was to land right next to me.... I was crawling back (I was too close to the bird for the minimum focus distance of my lens) He did not start screaming and fly away as they so often do even when he realised I was laying there... perhaps he was so focus on the last meal of the day he wanted to handle the risk or did not really notice me or perhaps he just thought I was nothing to be afraid off. I think that we may have met ealier that day in a different area but in close by proximity of that zone. It is hard to be sure as all Great Blue Herons look alike. Anyway, I am sure we could have spent the night together, him sort of "hiding" in the trench created by the tidal movement and me just above sea level on dry land taking pictures. I did not take the risk to go down to his level as I did not want him to leave... so shooting from above a bit... something I rarely do but I really enjoy those situations where birds are completely at ease with the presence of the paparazzi.

It's not that easy to get help in a situation of big pain if you have to go a longer way for it (for me 65 km by car).
But the feeling after treatment, when you feel the difference directly...

El Museo de Artes y Costumbres Populares de la ciudad de Sevilla (Andalucía, España) está localizado en la plaza de América del parque de María Luisa. Al otro lado de la plaza se encuentra el Museo Arqueológico. Fue el pabellón de Arte Antiguo de la Exposición Iberoamericana de 1929.
Fue planteado como pabellón de Industrias, Manufacturas y Artes Decorativas. Finalmente, se le llamó pabellón de Arte Antiguo e Industrias Artísticas. Se trata de un edificio proyectado en 1913 y construido en 1914 por el arquitecto Aníbal González, autor también de los otros edificios levantados en la misma plaza de América. Es de ladrillo visto con motivos decorativos de cerámica. Por su estilo arquitectónico, fue conocido como el pabellón Mudéjar.

The Museum of Arts and Popular Customs of Seville (Spanish: Museo de Artes y Costumbres Populares) is a museum in Seville, Andalusia, Spain, located in the María Luisa Park, across the Plaza de América from the Provincial Archeological Museum.
The museum occupies the Mudéjar Pavilion (Pabellón Mudéjar) designed by Aníbal González and built in 1914. It served as an art pavilion, the Pabellón de Arte Antiguo, for the Ibero-American Exposition of 1929, when Aníbal González had the opportunity to design several additional permanent buildings for the plaza. The exterior is ceramic over brick, and has three doors with archivolts adorned with glazed tiles (azulejos).[citation needed]
The building originally consisted of two stories over an aeration chamber (necessary because of the humidity). In the 1960s, the main floor, originally over 12 metres (39 ft) high, was divided in two, with an intermediate level added by architect Delgado Roig. In 1972, as part of the preparations for the current museum, the various stories of the building were connected by a grand spiral staircase designed by José Galnares Sagastizábal.
The museum was established by a decree of 23 March 1972, initially as a section of the Museum of Fine Arts of Seville. It opened its doors to the public 4 March 1973.[2] For the next seven years, the museum fell under the responsibility of the Ministry of Education and Science, but the city government occupied more than half of the poorly maintained building. Neither institution took full responsibility. This situation led to a series of temporary closures. If this year the health situation is unprecedented, we should not forget these millions of lives spoiled by an inexhaustible thirst for atrocities !! 76 years later, we still have this duty of memory, which must never stop !!!! To never forget his people who gave their lives for our Freedom!
Sunrise at Mesa Arch, every photographer dream... We all have in mind this amazing picture of the sun rising over the La Sal mountains, hitting the bottom of the arch, creating an amazing scenery.
I was determined to get one of those, but you know what? Nature flipped me off. Lots of clouds and no sun. Kind of a bummer when you've traveled thousand of miles and when you know this is probably the only attempt you'll have in you life to take this shot.
Anyway, the landscape was amazing so I enjoyed my breakfast here and tried to make the most of the weather situation ! This picture might not be as impressive as the "usual" views of Mesa Arch but I liked the glow and the clouds/sunbeams were very interesting.
Even without the sun, it was an amazing moment.

Shot taken originally from the fall as I was unable to visit my preferred park this morning. No issues, sometimes you just need to adjust your plans given the current situation!
A woman walked down to the shore of the green space with her dog, off leash. The dog proceeded to run out after this egret, causing it to relocate. She tried calling it back, but it would have nothing to do with her. She needs to use that leash, as required by law!!! First comment is moments before, as the dog charges...
A lot of wildlife photographers will recognize the situation in which the subject is compelling, but the shooting conditions are crappy.
That's what happened here. The light was harsh and the subjects were down a steep embankment making it impossible to get a good shooting angle. But what we have here is a clash between a Marbled Godwit (right) and a Hudsonian Godwit (left). I couldn't resist posting shot of the rare nature moment. The two species didn't get along very well and entertained us with their squabbling for a few minutes. The outcome of the scuffle was a surprise. The smaller HG made a nifty move and jabbed its bill into the chest of the MG. That must have smarted and the bigger bird immediately left the vicinity.

While they come in all varieties of somewhat freaky-looking spiders, orb weavers--like our famous friend from 'Charlotte's Web'--are considered harmless to people. The only way one is likely to cross you is by building a web you don't see before accidentally walking through it! And the Spiny Orbweaver (Gasteracantha cancriformis) takes the extra step of putting tufts of silk out on its webs to help us spot them. After all, a lot of work goes into these constructions, the last thing they need is for us to come loping--or birds to go flying--through them.
A day in the forests of sächsische Schweiz and my first photo of a waterfall. Took a lot of shots for this one, as it was quite dark situation. Only had ND1000 which was to much, as D5200 has max. 30 s of exposure in single shot mode. Didnt want to go higher than f11. Finally it was made out from series of 3 exposures. Not much postprocessing. HDR Pro in Photoshop. Colors, cropping in Lightroom.
