Sometimes I see potential in a photo for these effects. Sometimes I just go willy nilly and see what happens. Sometimes I just put the photo in the trash and start over.
This is done using a layer mask and blur effect in Photoshop Elements.
Happy Slider Sunday
It's interesting how chats and mutual situations bloom into friendship and collabs. She's been instrumental in pushing my own boundaries in pictures as well as helping me out in learning new things, most recently in the L'Homme Editorial Here

An unusual obelisk stands on the central square of the Trinity-Sergius Lavra. It was established in 1792 by the famous scholar and church leader - Metropolitan Plato (Levshin). On each side of the obelisk is a medallion with a text explaining exactly what role Laurus played in a given era ...
Many people know the monastery of St. Sergius of Radonezh as the spiritual center of Russian Orthodoxy and a collection of remarkable architectural monuments. But not everyone knows how important he played in the sharp turns of Russian history. And it’s hard to say in which country and how we would live today, if not for this monastery.
St. Sergius taught people primarily love and forgiveness. He himself set an example of humility in the most difficult situations.
Thousands of pilgrims come to the Lavra daily. There are 11 temples in the monastery.
Trinity Church is not the largest in the architectural ensemble of the Lavra, but it is here that the majority of those who came to the monastery are in a hurry. The whole time the temple is open for people to visit, the flow of people going into it does not stop: pilgrims hurry to bow to the relics of the founder of the monastery, St. Sergius.
Two trams again - this is a similar traffic situation as in the previous upload, just a different point of view.
The background tram is coming out of the Arnulfstraße, entering the Bahnhofsplatz square; while the foreground tram comes out of Prielmayerstraße from the Stachus square, entering the Dachauer Straße.
Single exposure, no "tricks" used.

Like a bull in a china shop - Behaving recklessly and clumsily in a situation where one is likely to cause damage.
During the holidays, Peter and Oleg visited some castles in Luxembourg. Peter (Prince Peter) is still looking for a castle for his sweet princess Rosie. www.flickr.com/photos/40262251@N03/ In the castle of Beaufort they also visited the torture chamber.
PETER:
Oleg?? That thing I'm sitting on won't turn around anymore
I can't go up and I can't go down.
What should I do now?
OLEG:
Sit still...give me your left paw and I'll pull you up
And so it happened
Peter and Oleg survived the torture chamber
A woman walked down to the shore of the green space with her dog, off leash. The dog proceeded to run out after this egret, causing it to relocate. She tried calling it back, but it would have nothing to do with her. She needs to use that leash, as required by law!!! First comment is moments before, as the dog charges...
How is the situation here?
Actually, the situation is hopeless .... but not serious

Actualment la situació es desesperada .... però no greu
Como está la situación aquà ?
Actualmente la situación es desesperada .... pero no grave

As a follow-up to my post of yesterday. the situation in this photo is very similar to that image. A moose cow was bedded down off to the right of this image and this bull was very close by. Only this time I happened to be at a very close distance. This is full frame - no crop. Now a bull moose is rather large, so filling the frame means a good 25 yards or more away, which is considered a safe distance from an animal such as this. However, it was during rut, which means they can be unpredictable. Luckily there was a small creek between us and I was constantly watching him with my escape route already planned. He was not bothered by my presence (and a few other photographers) and if anything he moved closer to the cow which meant closer to me. I kept wishing he would raise his head, but wild animals seldom comply with our subliminal suggestions. Shortly after this shot he bedded down for the day as well.
Thanks so much to everyone who takes the time to view, like or comment on my photos!

perhaps this is one of my favorite situations of my work, when a hundred years of life in one click of the camera shutter.
The story develops by itself, it remains only to silently smoke outside the edge of the frame ..

"..The Old Rock has always been here. But there were many worries, and I looked through it.. When we are young we all run.. Now my children and grandchildren drive cattle themselves. Having grown old, I look at these stones all the days, sitting in front of the yurt.."
They are bound, the old rock, and the old woman. Bound in this desert for a century. Soon the woman will leave, and the eagles nesting on this rock will peck at her body in the desert among these stones, as her mother and father too..
In the corral behind the yurt, a small white kid is closed.. he always wants to run... And a little boy, great-grandson, constantly runs away from the old woman to him too,
He is dressed in the clothes of a small girl - Spirits should not know for the time being..
- he is the heir of this old yurt, near the Old Rock

"This situation may be said, at the least, to be uncomfortable. Historically, from St Paul on, what has mattered has been the religious substructure. ... The twentieth century has seen the religious substructure sinking into the ground." Prof Michael Goulder, 'The Importance of Being Religious', unpublished paper, November 1997.

While they come in all varieties of somewhat freaky-looking spiders, orb weavers--like our famous friend from 'Charlotte's Web'--are considered harmless to people. The only way one is likely to cross you is by building a web you don't see before accidentally walking through it! And the Spiny Orbweaver (Gasteracantha cancriformis) takes the extra step of putting tufts of silk out on its webs to help us spot them. After all, a lot of work goes into these constructions, the last thing they need is for us to come loping--or birds to go flying--through them.
I went back to Mountain Goat Peak to see what developments had transpired since yesterday's visit and found, not the one battled warrior, but what i believe to be the victor, and what the fight was about. The prize was this coveted gal - and i must admit she is quite the looker - with who i am most certain shall produce a new kid or two come spring. I suspect the interloper tried to insert himself into this relationship and was met with stiff resistance. That's my take on the situation. They are an adorable couple, magnificent.
The one on the left recognized me from a super long distance away since they were near the peak of the mountain, and acknowledged our friendship with a very long pose head on which i will keep for another posting. What became of our injured warrior i have not found yet. I'm sure he will reappear at some point over the weeks ahead. He is easy enough to recognize, white fur, hooves on all four and two horns.

At first I thought it was an interesting stick on the water, then it moved its head. Unfortunately I didn't have a good spot nor a canoe to get closer. This is the best shot I got from where I was.
View on black please, and she won't fly away.

Number 7,missing her ear tag, and her newborn calf. We were under a tornado watch for hours last evening when this little guy came into the world here at home. I named him Stormy. I didn't notice the after birth "bonnet" on Stormy's head until I loaded this photo to my computer. Odd things like this is what makes photography so much fun to me and it keeps me going.

The Jasmund National Park is home to the beautiful chalk coast of the island of Rügen and the sea-encrusted Jasmund peninsula with its hilly plateau. Beech forests, chalk cliffs and the sea form a fascinating backdrop. Here it seems as if the beech forest plunges into the sea. The natural forest boundary situation on the chalk cliff is overwhelmingly symbolic of the continuous expansion of the beech. The beech forests of the steep slopes are among Germany's few never-used primeval forest relics.
