Le site de Deir el-Bahari est un complexe funéraire, composé de temples et de tombes, situé sur la rive gauche du Nil face à la ville de Louxor et des temples de Karnak, légèrement au sud de la vallée des rois, adossé à la paroi rocheuse de la montagne de Thèbes, en Haute-Égypte.
Le nom arabe de ce site (دير البحري;, dayr al-baḥrī, « le couvent de la Mer ») rappelle l’existence du couvent copte élevé dans ce lieu.
Sur la rive gauche du Nil, en face de Karnak, la falaise de la chaîne Libyque dessine un vaste amphithéâtre qui marque le centre de la nécropole thébaine.
Le château de La Motte-Tilly est édifié à partir de 1754 dans un parc boisé en bordure de Seine, sur des plans de l’architecte François Nicolas
Lancret, pour les frères Terray. Le plus célèbre, l’abbé Joseph Marie Terray devient contrôleur général des finances du roi Louis XV en 1769.
En 1910, le comte de Rohan-Chabot, descendant par sa mère de la famille Terray, entreprend des travaux de restauration d’après des documents d’archives. Le parc est ainsi redessiné avec des terrasses descendant en pente douce jusqu’au miroir d’eau.
Le château est classé monument historique en 1946. Après le décès du comte en 1964, sa fille, la marquise de Maillé, reconstitue par le décor et l’ameublement aux prestigieuses estampilles*, l’ambiance raffinée d’une demeure du XVIIIe siècle. Décédée en 1972, sans héritier, la marquise lègue son château à la Caisse nationale des monuments historiques et des sites aujourd'hui Centre des monuments nationaux, à la condition qu’il soit maintenu en l’état et que « le visiteur puisse y ressentir le sentiment d’une présence

Yesterday's weather was brutal. Twenty-five mile an hour winds with the wind chill .... too darn cold! I've been feeling down without my camera in hand so I dragged Kipp out into the weather to see the sparrows. They seemed happy to sit in the sun yet many were in their cozy Lobster Traps.
This one was so happy to show off his best side:) I may spend the rest of the year photographing these darlings...

Durdle door sits on the South Coast of the UK in Dorset and is part of the Jurassic coastline there.
A much loved spot visited by many photographers always produces some incredible images.
This was taken in the late afternoon when the rocks and coastline were bathed in some beautiful golden light.
Using a LEE little stopper for a longer exposure to catch some motion in the water.

A public bench at the head of the Wessenden Valley alongside Wessenden Head reservoir, the highest of 4 Yorkshire Water reservoirs in the valley. A great place to take a break when hiking, biking or taking pictures.
