A close look at a very small Sandpiper.
If you sit still and wait for them to move by your position, these House Sparrow-sized peeps will often pass by very close. They forage in very shallow water or on the shore itself.

As a former bakery, the three-bedroom stone cottage is teeming with quirky original features from the old bread oven in the dining room to remnants of the bakers’ implements still in the cottage. It sits in the shadows of the towering Corfe Castle in its eponymous village.

Gammelstad, church, Sweden
Gammelstad Church Town (Swedish: Gammelstads kyrkstad) is a UNESCO World Heritage Site situated in Gammelstaden near the city of Luleå, Sweden, at the northern end of the Gulf of Bothnia. It is the best preserved example of a type of town that was once widespread throughout northern Scandinavia. As Church Village of Gammelstad, Luleå, it was listed as a World Heritage Site in 1996.

I always enjoy it when you get to see the same scene in different seasons. Here is one of my favorite Autumn shots (seen below) taken yesterday in the winter. I stylized the Autumn shot a bit so I also stylized the winter shot a little for fun.

An old and abandoned dairy auction barn....not really all that interesting. But then you do a little research and discover that it was once someone’s dream to turn the land into an agricultural theme park! Sadly, the plans fell through and the dream probably turned into a nightmare. Twenty years later, the old buildings sit, dilapidated and falling into ruin. Just a faded memory.
Back to the lone tree at Findon in Sussex, the sun gave a nice display and lit up the Buttercups on the side of the hill.

I could sit and watch squirrels for hours, all that scurrying around searching for and burying food. I also love it when they obligingly sit still long enough so I can get a shot!!
