"The Seven Sisters" in East Sussex during a storm in early Spring.
For a high resolution full screen view of my photos, please visit: www.pictographica.net
I have often asked myself weather sunsets have brothers or sisters, and knowing that sunrise is actually Sunset's brother, I, for my entire life searched for it's sisters.
And than it happened the other day. Climbing a small grassy hill in the most beloved part of the world, my Homeland, I came about what I was searching for. Sunset sisters were there talking to the Sun in a way lovers talk to each other.
Now I have to find out about who is it's Mother...b.mikic
My one minute poetry/prose continues...
A chilly morning view of the 3 Sisters reflected in Policemen's Creek.
"If you have visited the town of Canmore or nearby Banff, you have likely seen or at least heard about the Three Sisters in Canmore. They are easily the town’s most recognizable peaks and some of the most unique in the Canadian Rockies.
In 1883, when Canmore was known as a mining town, Albert Rogers named these three peaks the “Three Nuns” following a winter storm that left the peaks snow-capped and resembled nuns in white veils.
In 1886, they were renamed by George Dawson, a Canadian geologist, and surveyor, to the Three Sisters. The names of the Three Sisters are individually known as Big Sister, Middle Sister, and Little Sister – or Faith, Hope, and Charity, respectively.
Îyârhe Nakoda, the traditional language of the First Nations Stoney Nakoda, also refers to the peaks as the Three Sisters. Although the name refers to Ĩ-ktomnĩ, the old man who would promise ‘three sisters’ in marriage whenever he was in trouble.
The Big Sister is the biggest at 2,936 meters, the Middle Sister is 2,769 meters, and the Little Sister is 2,694 meters."

Thanks for taking a look! Always appreciated.
Sunrise lights up the skies nicely over two of the Three Sisters. Big Sister is out of sight on the right. Here we have Little Sister and Middle Sister.
"In 1883, Albert Rogers named these mountains the Three Nuns after a storm left a heavy veil of snow on the northern face of all three peaks. They were renamed the Three Sisters in 1886 by George Dawson and they are referred to individually as Big Sister, Middle Sister and Little Sister. Heavily associated with the town of Canmore in the front ranges of the Canadian Rockies known as Kananaskis Country, the Three Sisters may be the most recognized peaks in the Bow River Valley section of the TransCanada Highway (Hwy 1)." travelalberta.com
Enjoy a wonderful Wednesday!
The Three Sisters in Canmore, the town’s most recognizable peaks and some of the most unique in Canadian Rockies. The Three Sisters are never getting old 😉. The names of the Three Sisters are individually known as Big Sister, Middle Sister, and Little Sister – or Faith, Hope, and Charity respectively. Went there twice, first time to check the location around sunset time, second time for sunrise, it was very dark in the early morning to walk there before sunrise… Head lights and bells were recommended. Several people arrived one after another, it was freezing cold, stayed for over two hours, from blue hour to golden hour… Closely contacted with three sisters. 😊
“The sand may brush off, the salt may wash clean, the tans may fade, but the memories will last forever.”
Another view from Birling Gap along the Seven Sisters. This is a terrific coast walk which I can thoroughly recommend.

Sinister Sister
tell me who's to blame
for a wicked demon kissed ya
made you the girl of evil fame
sinister sister
sheer horror's got a name
for a mean seducer kissed ya
without shame!
A friend is the result of a choice...
It's an option of love...
It's the discovery of a soul sister...
It's the clear and abiding consciousness of something sublime...
that isn't in the nature of perishable things...
It's a priceless treasure, love without distance...
someone present in our way in times of doubt, joy,
too much precious to be lost...
too important to be forgotten...
- Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

The wonderful Blue Mountains, 2 hours west of Sydney. This is the 3 sisters, a very popular tourist destination, overlooking the beautiful Megalong valley.
Mirror, mirror on the wall, who’s the fairest of them all? I say the pointy nosed one. What I can't say is that I am the only one with this shot there was lots of photographers there that morning. If you count the reflection it is six sisters ;-)
Taken at Asbury Park, November 1st, 2021. I couldn't get them to stand still and look at the camera. They were tired, cold and hungry. But they are so beautiful. My great neices and nephew.
All kinds of weather
We stick together
The same in the rain or sun
Two different faces
But in tight places

Here's a more colorful version of the South Sister panorama I took last month. It seems like ages ago, especially now that we've gotten some warm sunny weather again. I was hoping for a slightly different angle, but the slope was hard to navigate. It's a lot steeper between me and the water than it appears.
