In northern Mexico's Chihuahuan Desert, about half an hour south of the US/Mexican border between El Paso and Juárez. The sand dunes can be seen for about 8 km along the highway. Some high dunes are only a few steps from the side of the road. Although many parts of Mexico have deserts, very few of them are so arid that they actually have hills of fine sand like this one
