Simpsons ride, Universal Studios

The Simpsons Movie premier made for some rather odd sights in Westwood Village.

Never before has anyone attempted to organize 15 marathons in 15 days for 15 charities running across the Simpson Desert with up to 100 runners, all competing for the title of Simpson Desert Multimarathon legend for 2011.

In 2010 only one man finished what he started out to achieve and that was Barry Golding. Barry set out to run 15 marathons in 15 days with 3 other marathon runners. Barry not only become the first to complete 15 marathons in 15 days but he was the only one to complete the 15 marathons in 15 days. The experts said it couldn't be done and for 3 of them they were right! Although Barry proved them wrong.

On return from the Simpson Desert Barry was contacted by so many runners and people who wanted to be part of 2011, it was decided to run the event in 2011 as a race but with the added twist that in 2011 not only will the race be 15 marathons in 15 days but it will be for 15 main stream charities.

This reminded me of that episodes of the Simpsons where they build a monorail, and when it goes crazy, Krusty rips open the door and makes to jump out, only to be pulled back by Leonard Nimoy, declaring "No. The world needs laughter". I love it!
