Simba and Jossu, friends!

just a try for new lens

Simba has serious ongoing medical conditions.

Simba is an amazing shelter dog success story. He came to the shelter in a state of high anxiety. New people, places, and noises frightened him, and he quickly regressed in the shelter environment. One of our staff took him in as a foster back in late January to work with him and build his confidence. Now, Simba comes to work with Tammy every day and works alongside other staff members in their offices. Just a few months ago, he was a dog that could only be approached by a select few in the building, and now he is a favorite of all. We are all helping to teach him tricks and reinforce his skills. Simba is treat-motivated, and has learned so much in a short time. He loves toys, and can fetch and “drop it”. He knows “sit”, “down”, “shake”, “high-five”, “leave it”, “wait”, “kennel”, and will soon master “roll over”. He only gets on furniture when given permission, and he gets along with other cats and dogs. Simba is quiet and rarely barks. He is housebroken, and loves to go for a hike or a road trip. Simba would make a great companion for an active people who like to have fun with their dogs.

Happy furry friday

Awww 7 week old Simba looks kind of sad

He loves this tube which is made up of 2 parts. He runs through it like a dog doing agility exercises and he sometimes sleeps in it!

HAPPY FURRY FRIDAY!

Taking care of my dear friends beautiful cats, SIMBA & KIKI...here are some photos I snapped of the kitties to send to Valerie while she's on vacation in PARIS

Simba gets a chin skritch as he rests his head against my leg

the last spot of sun ...

He will only be with us a little bit longer , the cancer has returned and can not be operated anymore.

All the lions except Johnny Junior were out today. JJ made it to the enclosure but ran back in after encountering the electric fence.

The 13 lions were rescued from cramped, unheated cages in a rundown zoo earlier in the year. Their condition has improved with proper diet and warm dry conditions.

The prides have been out for the first time in their lives over the last week. This was the first time that all three prides have been out together.

Ten-year-old Simba lost his home when his family went through a divorce. He is now available for adoption through Retrieve a Golden of Minnesota (RAGOM).

on his beachtowel.....was mine....!!

I have decided that I’m doomed to be a spinster cat lady for the rest of my being, seeing as I really love my cats. Well, future cat lady or not, this is my cat Simba. Of course my parents bought the cats, but my brother and I got to name them. My favourite movie at the time was The Lion King (still is one of my favourites, mind you), so what better name for a spunky orange cat than Simba? My brother named our other cat Rocky, after the mascot of one of the local minor league baseball teams, the New Britain Rock Cats. The reason for this photograph is that I spent a good fifteen or twenty minutes this afternoon sitting on my kitchen floor playing with my cats. And there you have it.
