The Mara Simba occupies a great position above the Talek River. The Restaurant and bar looks down on the water with hippos in the water. Simba is sculpted in polymer clay. His golden nose and some of his mane strands are sculpted with metalic gold polymer. Picture doesn't show the beautiful luster of the gold.
His eyes are hand painted by me. He is embellished with 2 unakite. Unakite are pretty, variegated stone beads with naturally occurring green and peach patches. This focal bead is ready to use.
No molds were used to create this sculptured bead.

Simba is one of the strays that comes to Dawn's Diner for Breakfast and Dinner .... he's one of the sweeter cats and often lets me pet him. Although with Callie being so loving and playful today, he hung back and let her get all the attention
Thrift find. I bought her for her weirdly angular anime face and her eyeprints (which I actually genuinely like). Her torso is covered in glitter (probably factory made since the rubber band that kept her necklace in place is unaffected). She seems to be missing a pair of wings too. About 21cm tall, click knees.
Not sure if I'm keeping her, but I'm going to try and sort her hair out at least. It's not too bad, but it's nylon and there's tinsel so ironing will be a bit tricky.

How to tell you about Simba without making you feel like shedding a tear or two? He is a 10 year old, 42 pound, Chow Chow/mix who did not get to move with his previous owners, after being with them seven years. Add to that, he is blind. No surprise, he is tentative when he first meets new people, but he loves being talked to, getting ear rubs and chin scratches. He was eager to get out of the kennel and did quite well. Keeping the leash fairly short, being sure he can maneuver through doors and that you can give him a reassuring pat frequently, all help. His coat is thick and a bit shaggy, his ears are very perky, and he has that purple tongue. Toys and treats held little interest, but he did enjoy moving about the court yard, off leash, and sniffing his way around. Simba is available in the Seniors-for-Seniors in the program. Approved adopters, aged 60 or older, can adopt him for no fee. His new owners should speak with someone from the Behavior Department to get tips on living with a blind dog. Won't you consider giving this sweet older dog a great retirement home?
Cold wet rainy evenings are best spent cozy in the lounge. Bear asleep on my lap, and Simba on the arm of the sofa.
