Simba, lit using a remote commanded SB-600 (creative lighting system) which is pointed down at the carpet to provide bounced light to light Simba and a bright patch to provide a reflection in his eye. Processed into black and white via Bibble (Green-Blue Maximum).
I've noticed that he can look quite interesting when lit from below by a patch of sunlight on the carpet (giving an interesting reflection in his eyes) so I thought I'd try play with something similar via a flash.
So I tried to find a religious figure in my newest stone, but only saw a screaming Simba that looks like he's being eaten by a hippo with wings. Dammit. So much for selling it on eBay. :D
The last of my xmas stitches, this one for my boss's little guy. He's obsessed with The Lion King and I've had this little pattern kicking around for ages, and figured he might enjoy it.
Changed the colours, though. The pattern called for Simba to be a little more gold-brown than the yellow-gold than he is in the cartoon.
I think he turned out pretty well, although the finishing with the felt came out a little wonky.
There are artificial needles everywhere! He pulls this tree all around the end table...and almost to the floor!
The Stillwater Public Library, 1107 S.Duck St., was pleased to welcome Simba from Therapy Dogs International. Some area children took the opportunity to read with their new friend.
It has been a while since I photographed the cats, and I had an opportunity this afternoon, so I took advantage.
Simba is a pedigree abyssinian. His coat colour is known as "usual" in the UK or "ruddy" in the USA.
