43/365 Seeing Lion cubs in the wild was one of the best things I have ever seen. The Lion King was a childhood obsession and seeing this in real life was incredible. One day i'll return to Africa, but first I have Australia and Nepal to visit in June - october! eeekk. Travelling is actually happening finally and then next stop China once I've saved up again. TOO. EXCITED.
I has her! Finally, I has her!
The Simba version of Rapunzel is something of a rare beast outside of eastern Europe, it seems; certainly in the UK it's all Mattel/Disney Store. The Boy had to go to Moscow on a trip with his students last year, and I asked him to keep his eyes peeled for her (poor sod). He did his best, poor thing, but only found Mattel dolls, apparently.
Anyway, I was idly searching for 'Disney dolls' on eBay, and I saw this face amongst a pile of other girls. Simba Rapunzel! I had to have her. I told The Boy this; he was slightly sceptical, if ultimately understanding (as I may have mentioned before, he's somewhat concerned at the rate of expansion of my doll collection).
And here she is! She's obviously going to be modded, though as yet I'm not sure to what extent. She might get to remain blonde. Then again, she may not. Watch this space.
She doesn't seem to be wearing her original dress - I'm pretty sure this is a Mattel Rapunzel dress (comparatively early issue).
This one has a yarn "mane" and no plush fur but he is made from fabric. Was not available in Europe. Mattel 1994
