Happy Sliders Sunday!
A snow storm, great lighting and a forgotten farm came together to make this early winter image possible.
These are the days I look forward to.

At the Goorambat silo complex there are three painted silos, two short ones sitting back to back and one tall concrete one standing on its own. The three silos were painted in two stages one year apart.
Renowned Australian artist Jimmy DVate was chosen to paint the Goorambat silos beginning with the tall concrete silo in 2018. Jimmy has once again chosen to feature an endemic threatened species, this time choosing Milli a Barking Owl who lives at the Healesville Sanctuary in Badger Creek, Victoria.
The Barking Owl is now considered to be an endangered species and there is said to be only 50 breeding pairs currently living in the wild. A mural such as this and on such a grand scale will now hopefully bring to light the current peril of this magnificent bird.

The Tungamah Silos were the first silos to be painted in North East Victoria and set a precedence for three more to follow in the next 18 months. They were painted by Western Australia street artist Sobrane Simcock with stage one completed in February 2018.
The initial mural depicted dancing Brolgas on the tall concrete silos and the much loved Australian Kookaburra on the short silo.
Then in September 2019, Sobrane returned to paint around the Kookaburra to include the loveable Pink and Grey Galah, a Humming bird, a cheeky owl hiding in the leaves, a Sulphur-crested Cockatoo, two small wrens and a white Ibis, sitting in the thick foliage of a gum tree.

The silos at the end of the road in Farmer Washington. Not much left of Farmer except the Community Hall and the outhouse beside it. There are a couple of abandoned buildings off the picture on the left, perhaps an old homestead. You can click on the link below to see them.

Artistic painted silo.
I am guessing this may be an older silo refurbished and painted.
To me, the silo resembles, a lighthouse, a windmill or even a small castle.....it most definitely has a European flair.
It's absolutely wonderful to view.

A silo (from the Greek σιρός – siros, "pit for holding grain") is a structure for storing bulk materials. Silos are used in agriculture to store grain (see grain elevators) or fermented feed known as silage. Silos are commonly used for bulk storage of grain, coal, cement, carbon black, woodchips, food products and sawdust. Wikipedia
