Exploring the real and the surreal.
Two images montaged together, one taken at a London bus stop and the other in a surreal dimension ;)

What a sight! A dead pine tree in the middle of logged forest, a few empty, likely forgotten old, nesting holes and one filled with a female Northern Hawk-Owl (Surnia ulula). Can it get any better? Happy Days!
What do you see, Nessie?
A philosophical meditation on pregnancy, parenting and medicine....very creative...I loved it!
La donna più attraente è quella che non riusciamo mai a trovare in un caffè affollato, quando la cerchiamo, è quella
a cui si deve dare la caccia, e scovare sotto i travestimenti delle sue storie.

A good playwright will make the last act of a play the most dramatic. Less than 90 days before the end of through service on the Modoc Line, a Chicago & North Western GE Dash 9 leads a westbound train at Merrill, Oregon in April 1997.
Just a record of a very unexpected, and exciting, sighting of bottlenose dolphins at Montrose beach, 15 May 2018 (some really close in, just in the waves breaking onto the beach). It also happened to be the first day I'd taken my long lens to the beach, because I was hoping to photograph the terns.
It was really difficult to know where they were going to pop up next, never mind find them in the camera before they'd disappeared again, so I was pleased enough just to get them in the frame, and it was a bonus that one was in focus! I sent these images to the Sea Watch Foundation, who were kind enough to reply immediately and confirm the ID of bottlenose dolphins.
Shoebill, Balaeniceps rex. at Mabamba Swamp, Entebbe, Kampala, Uganda. My first ever sighting of this fabulously prehistoric looking bird. _86A3932
A sight that had to be taken , all of a sudden there seems to be blossom on a lot of trees , a most welcome sight indeed .
Had a little wander around in a woodland looking for some nice fungus yesterday
I think it's alittle early for them at the moment and in much need for some rain to help them come through but was determined to find some and find some I did
The 1st one I stumbled across was a Death Cap , I did proceed with caution when photographing it as they are highly poisonous🍄😷
Hopefully after some good rain Shrooms will be springing up left right center as the area is fairly damp ,boggy in places and very mossy with alot of mossy trees
Although I didn't find many Shrooms I did make use of the woodland landscape and shot one or two scenes this being one .
Can't wait for some nice autumn colours and some lovely misty woodland scenes , autumn really is the best time of year 🍁🍄🍂

Last night was eyes on the first owlet to poke its head out of this nest. I was extremely happy to see some fluttering of white within the nest, finally had it confirmed that this was actually a viable nest, and there was at least 1 owlet in it!
My wife and I are going into the hospital tomorrow, and will be coming back home with a brand new baby, times are a changin'!
Best laid plans 1. Arriving early at Slittingmill found lovely morning winter sun for the second week running for a Tyseley GWR loco, but there were some shadows across the line. But in the end these didn’t matter too much.
Collett ‘Castle’ 4-6-0 no.5043 ‘Earl of Mount Edgcumbe’ made a terrific sight (and sound) as she headed the Tyseley Warwick Rd-York “Christmas White Rose” past the crossing at Slittingmill, near Barrow Hill.
It was nice to see friends Alan Burkwood, AlanP, and Trev (JoeJoe) and Robin in the large gallery that congregated for the ‘Castle’.
I spent about a week cycling around the Faroe Islands. As I rode along the way to Saksun, I was suddenly struck by a terrible blizzard. When it finally opened up again, the whole valley showed itself in all its glory.
My Canon Eos 7D hung around my neck throughout my visit but was scarcely used. I fired my pocket camera much more. At least here its lens barrel proved useful as a prop for a visual pun.
Knitting is a fun activity. Many people learn to knit when they are still young. Although it looks like something you can only do with sight, that's not the case. Many blind people knit, too. In fact, a lot of people learn to knit only after they have lost their sight. I learnt to knit when I was 4 or 5 years old. Now, I'm re-learning it blind. It's not that difficult, but I do have to be careful so that I don't do any mistakes.
