This is by far the largest mosaic i've made. If I used 1x1 bricks only, it would use 30,672 of them.
It stands 45 inches (3.75 feet) by 66 inches (5.5 feet)
It took somewhere in the neighborhood of 70 hours to complete, and required about $400 worth of Lego in addition to the pieces I had on hand.
Likely if you had to buy all the pieces, you'd be in $1000 range.
From the Japanese word meaning "cute", Kawaii features sweet deer, colorful mushrooms, and green trees on a midweight Japanese woven cream cotton. Kawaii is snapped in spring green and features our organic bamboo velour inside. It's not just cute; it's perfection.
Please note this is a nondirectional print, so you will have mushroom and deer facing both directions on your diaper.

I just haven't had the time to get out and shoot...so here's another from the week of butterflies at Grammy's. Hope you have a great Wednesday.
Went to Le Claire, IA last weekend. Tried to get some eagle shots, and also took a walk into town. We were looking into the store window of an old fashioned diner, and admiring the soda fountain, and the owner was on his way out the door and invited us in. It had the neatest tin ceiling with a raised pattern on it. He said that his parents bought this 65 years ago to the day (it was valentine's day). It didn't look like much had changed inside since those 65 years. He told us to hang out at Sneaky Pete's, which also had a tin ceiling and wonderful ambiance.
When he saw my camera and heard I was trying to get eagle shots he told me the story of a local nature photographer that filled a dead carp with air and floated it out into the dam on some string. That allowed him to get a lot of great action shots. I love small towns! The locals are always willing to tell you stories if you show an interest and you can learn a lot.
First experiments with dippold pinhole cam. Came out great :)

used:
350 ml water at 20°
6 teaspoons of instant coffee (brand "Carrefour, Strong")
4 spoons of washing soda (crystals, could not find the powder)
1/4 teaspoon Vitamin-C powder
developped for about 12 min, rinced 3 times with water and fixed with ilford fixer.

During a tour of Kings Canyon near Alice Springs, Northern Territory, Australia, I happen upon the great fortune of meeting Dave, tour guide for Emu Run Tours. As luck would have it, I was the only one for the tour and the 12 hours we spent together were fulled full of interesting conversation. Dave is a good mate!
