Shoutout to my buddy Tommy White for getting out with me last weekend for some much needed time chasing fall color in the High Country. We had no intention really of visiting this particular waterfall, but as we drove the Blue Ridge Parkway and some fog/rain appeared we figured why not. Unfortunately the fog didn’t stick around for us, but it was still totally worth the climb down. Note I didn’t say hike…it’s a climb. I’m sure some have done it without ropes, but I wouldn’t advise it. Tommy brought 2 sections of rope...and luckily there was another section left behind by someone else we could use near the bottom. The secret is certainly out on this one, but I hope folks tread lightly. It's an extremely special spot. Treat it with care...and if you even think twice about not being fit enough to do it, don't. It's dangerous. I was about to name the photo 'sacrifice'...cause you're surely to get bruised, skin a knee, shin, elbow, something (which I did). I'm not sure my image really does this place justice...I was a bit overwhelmed by it to be honest.

Anyway...hope everyone's having a great weekend!

When I'm far too gone, can You show me love?

Shoutout to Joji with his next single as it's been the song for this series <3

Every single available charger broke, so Amtrak started assigning P42s to the regional routes out of Chicago; except the Hiawatha, which got Dash 8 #500.

After overshooting the platform, and a half hour delay in the proccess, 338 finally gets out of Sturtevant, kicking up a bunch of snow as it flies past the searchlights on its way to Chicago, where it would arrive 40 minutes late

The Dash 8 isn’t in the rotation anymore, because it crapped out around Mayfair on 339 a few hours after this, and limped back on 332 the next morning. The charger on the north end had issues on 332 around the Airport stop, resulting in a completely new set being required... which broke and cancelled 337 and 342.

Classy performance as always, Amtrak

Big shoutout to the gorgeous Anhedonia! Thanks for always supporting and being a great friend. So glad to have you in my SL.

Rafael left Barqa with questions in his head. He barely knew the direction towards the Kingdom of Khalamat and so he strolled the path down south, hoping to somehow meet the mysterious Samira. Soon, the path got more and more vegetated and within moments Rafael realized that he entered overgrown jungle ruins. His eyes wandered around, admiring the ancient ruins, when he heard an ear-shattering roar, followed by heavy stomps. Rafael couldn't believe his eyes: A young woman on a huge elephant appeared. "Howdy, Rafael! I'm Samira!", shouted the woman, "and this is Willy!" The elephant roared in a friendly manner. "I..i..heard about you!", said Rafael. "Hop on!", said Samira, "we have a long way to go!"

His figs are immensely detailed and look fantastic! Go support him! flic.kr/p/S3xjP2

Shoutout to my Israelite Buddies!

The traditional way to wish someone a “Happy New Year” in Hebrew is by saying “Shana Tova”

Starting on Saturday night, people often wish each other “shavua tov,” meaning “a good week,” as a wish for the coming week. You might even hear people saying this through Sunday. You can repeat, “shavua tov!” to them right back.

A shoutout to my wonderful wife (who occasionally views my - usually horrifically pun-infected - creations)!

One of my attempts at the "Macro Mondays" theme "Container".

Shot with a "Tomioka-Copal 64 mm F 4" (enlarging) lens on a Canon EOS R5.

This fig was a pretty fun one and I want to give a shoutout to Shane for helping me with the head.

The hair piece was the werewolf/manbat hair, and i cut off the ears, and sculpted the braid. The head was a Legolas head, which I removed the cheek bones and the eyebrows, and painted all the details.

The torso was an old Obi Wan torso (from like the 90's) which I then added the fabric onto. The belt is e-tape which I painted the details onto.

Just like Maul and Qui-Gon, the tunic underneath the belt is paper.

The lightsaber for Obi Wan was pretty fun to make. I cut off the bottom, but left the prongs and sculpted the ball onto the bottom. I also trimmed the top and flipped the emitter upside down.

Thoughts and suggestions appreciated!

Shoutout to Mutresse and a massive ♥ thank you ♥ for choosing me as one of the winners of a recent giveaway. This is the Kirka Top and it's available now at Collabor88.

Thanks to SM and IH, I was able to score a tiger leading a train over Parkway Viaduct. This was my first time shooting the Wheeling, and it worked out well!

A beautiful sunset from Skyline Drive in Shenandoah, Virginia.

Shoutout to Uniden!

Shoutout to NS Chicago line dispatchers for not figuring out how to move CPKC train 137 in a timely manner so it moved 50 miles in just over 7 hours, causing this to run in decent light

Shoutout to my boi Brobot Customs for making my this custom lego Civil War Spider-Man. This is his second lego custom and he's still getting the hang of painting Lego(he's getting better). Sadly, this figure can't move that much with the risk of paint chipping, because this was painted onto a First Order Stormtrooper body and legs and a flesh head. I don't mind though, because I'm keeping it as a display piece.

Shoutout to Scott Lin's "the rip", still one of my all time favorite Flickr images, and ironically one of the first that I encountered when I joined this site, totally new to photography, in February 2009. Since I'm already rambling, I might as well solicit some inspiration and see what pops up. What's one of your favorite Flickr photos of all time? Flickr photos only; paste a link in the comments (and please, link any photos except your own or mine)... :)

Hello all. Firstly I apologize for my extended absence. I have moved to the UK and have had a busy year as a new student at University. A problem that has befallen many builders my age who attend university is the dramatic decline in Lego model making over the academic year. That and being away from my well established room of parts drawers and bins, modeling hardly gets any time or attention anymore, which is a shame really.

However, I am happy to say I haven't lost my mojo. This model was admittedly started during Christmas Break of last year, when I was home and had time to get my nose back into my building during the short period of time I had. I ended up making decent progress on a nifty and sturdy switching locomotive that had sat quietly as a smokebox and steam chest concept model for ages. During my time back in Portland, I became passionate for the city's Industrial past during the first half of the 20th century. A far cry different than the identity Portland carries now, but one icon that still stands strong is the Portland Union Station. This magnificent station building was erected in the late 1800's and continues to serve the passenger trains coming in from across the country to this day. Not so long ago, and technically still in existence, the Northern Pacific Terminal Company or Portland terminal Company was established to directly handle traffic in and around the Union Station area and it's rail yards and industries. The company hired a loyal fleet of Alco 0-6-0's to muscle freight and some passenger stock around, and later were replaced by steady Alco S2 diesels, one of which was preserved and lies in the Oregon Electric Railway Museum in Brooks, OR.

The Alco 0-6-0's are what I've modeled here, and they are about as basic as they come; which doesn't mean they lack character. I had a very fun time making this model so far, and when I return back to the states this summer I will build it's accompanying tender, and hope to install a Circuit Cube set of motors to power it (something I finally invested in.)

I have some other models I hope to share in the meantime that were built last year but haven't gotten a chance in the spotlight yet.

It is worth mentioning a big shoutout to @barduck12 who is currently undertaking the mammoth project of constructing a minifigure scale version of the tremendous Portland Union Station building. From his model, I was inspired to research the station more and it's loyal terminal railway company that served it, creating this model. Go check out his model and how it's come so far!

It was a cold but sunny autumn morning and while the others were rushing to work, I had one spare hour to spend admiring it by the river.

This guy is truly amazing, he makes tons of Lego film posters, builds, and more. I am apalled on how much likes he's getting on his page, so please check this guy out, he deserves more followers than he's getting.
