This is the final image from this series, a shortcut to my home along a beautiful country road. As I said in my original post, many people drive by these various spots every day blind to the beauty around them. There are so many “pictures” I have taken that reside only in my mind. I am so glad I took the time to retrace my drive to work and back with a camera in hand. I hope these pictures have encouraged you to look for the beauty that lives just beyond those guard rails.
The lovely textures used in this series are thanks to the beautiful works of Anna Lenabem, Tito and Jai Johnson.

Something other than a landscape today.
This impressive historic church and bell tower caught my eye when passing thru Kitwanga BC. Can't remember seeing too many churches with the Bell Tower standing alone and separate like this.
Kitwanga is a village of the Gitksan people who have lived in Northwestern British Columbia for thousands of years. The British settlers brought Christianity with them and converted the local Indians to the faith. St Paul’s Church was built by the Gitksan people of Kitwanga in 1893. The Church is no longer is service. Hope they maintain and preserve it tho.
Kitwanga is the southern portal to the beautiful Stewart/Cassiar highway, a shorter route than the AlCan highway to reach Alaska. Took that route on my way north. Highly recommended. Much more remote and pristine.
Enjoy a wonderful Sunday!

In order to be able to take this picture I had to fight my way across a huge crowd of tourists before and on the Marienbrücke and climb up the shortcut to this point of view on the other side.
I took this picture during the journey to my Bavarian and Swabian home I went on with my Chinese wife and my stepdaughter two years ago.
You'll find more pictures of this journey, also the picture I took like most tourists on the Marienbrücke, in the album.

This is what some of the roads I travel look like in my search for abandonment.

Take a left on the country lane by the tall pines. When you pass the fields on the right by the Sunflowers you know you’re on the correct road. The road has numerous slow rising hills. You’ll soon pass a row of four mailboxes on the right hand side. Follow the lane as it winds around the acres and acres of healthy looking cornfields. This house is on the left and set back a good ways off the road. There are flower gardens and trees surrounding our property. That is, “The Shortcut Home” Thanks for viewing my work. Be kind to everyone.
