A container ship being loaded with produce at Port Nelson (NZ).

The Panamanian registered bulk carrier called “Federal Island” sits in the Nanaimo, BC., harbour, waiting to be filled with its next load to be transported to Malaysia. This bulk carrier, 200m in length, floated at anchor in the sun as we passed by on our way to Tsawwassen ferry terminal from Duke Harbour, Nanaimo. Ferry passages between Vancouver Island and the B.C. mainland offer spectacular views of nature and marine vessels.

The last German full-rigged ship, a three-master, training ship Germany ...

is a former sail training ship of the German merchant shipping. The last German full-rigged ship, a three-masted ship, is now moored in the New Port in Bremerhaven all year round.

Since the name Deutschland had already been assigned to the Panzerschiff Deutschland, which had already been planned but had not yet been built, the function Schulschiff was included in the official name of the Schulschiff Deutschland.

The ship was recognized as a floating cultural monument in 1995.

The Leuvehaven currently houses the oldest shipping museum in the Netherlands: the Maritime Museum.

On historic ships and cranes you can experience how the world port of Rotterdam originated here.

In July and August, the Maritime Museum organizes boat trips through the Leuvehaven and surrounding inland ports.

You must forgive me for posting the occasional image of the Golden Gate Bridge. I like this view of the bridge at sunset because it shows how busy the San Francisco Bay is: one tanker is entering the Bay while another is leaving, and a small fishing vessel makes its way between the two. And then, of course, there is the bridge against a colorful sky, but no fog!

On this morning, there was a very low tide. I walked to the end of the jetty on the right side and decided I would climb to the top to take a couple of pics from there. I got about 3/4 of the way up before I slipped and fell. I rolled down the rocks back to the sand. I think every inch of my body hit a rock. I hurt pretty badly. I slowly got up and hobbled my way back to my car. Over the next couple of days, my body tuned black and blue and I was very sore. Four days later I finally went to urgent care where I found out I had cracked a rib. Well, I got a few pictures and my camera never left my hand. My body will heal but a broken camera would have hurt worse. Lesson learned!

They always say time changes things, but you actually have to change them yourself.

Yay paper boat picture! :D

It's still raining outside -- and the thunders are still roaming across the sky. I like rain, but sometimes I really have to hate it because they ruin our backyard. My dog becomes stressed too when he hears the thunders. He would bark and bark and bark and bark until I come out to shut him up. :| but when we both hear a thunder at the same time, I would sit down next to him and say "okay, you win."

Since I need some winter images for a proper photo calendar i looked for something worth capturing during those days when we had at least a little bit of snow.

Actually the amount of snow we had wasn’t even enough to cover the grass on this hill, so I cloned out hundreds of grass blades, which was great fun.

Not.
