ITV and Falhawk were the subject of the first paraglider material scare, the polyester based DuPont Teijin Tetoron pr 48g/M2 that the paragliders were made from went very prematurely porous, the coating on the material simply didn't last any length of time, resulting in ITV and Falhawk doing a poor product recall and buy back deal with a lot of very ticked off owners.
both nylon and polyester are far too porous for any kind of paraglider use until a coating is applied to one or both sides of the fabric, and that it was the failure of the coating, not the base material that caused the problem.
