This is baby Sheriff, he's a 12 month old mini aussie, he loves to play all day long but also loves to give hugs. It's very hard for him to stand still for more than a few seconds since he has so much energy but we're working on it. He's just a goofy puppy that always puts a smile on my face

Big Welcome to all new members and welcome back to all the regular members I've gotten to know throughout my projects

Built during the reign of King Stephen c. 1135–1154. When they built this Great Castle could have imagined how the landscape would changed. Looking at the castle from this just gives the feeling of the history and how the world has changed.

Sheriff Hutton Castle is a ruined quadrangular castle in the village of Sheriff Hutton, North Yorkshire, England

The original motte and bailey castle, the remains of which can be seen to the south of the churchyard, was built here in the Forest of Galtres by Bertram de Bulmer, Sheriff of York during the reign of King Stephen (c. 1135–1154)

Sheriff Hutton has two castles. The first is a Norman motte and bailey structure of which only the mounds remain. It was built by Ansketil de Bulmer on land given to him by William the Conqueror. Hutton stems from the Old English hoh (a projecting piece of land) and tun (a farmstead) while the Sheriff prefix stems from the association with the Bulmer family, Bertram de Bulmer being sheriff of York in 1115.

In 1331 the Neville family received overlordship of Sheriff Hutton and in 1382 John Neville started to build a second castle on a new site in the village. It was completed in 1398. The Neville’s were largely responsible for the growth of the village that we see today. Richard Duke of Gloucester (the future Richard III) was placed in the household of Richard Neville. It is likely that Richard III visited Sheriff Hutton several times and in 1485 he created The Council of the North which used to meet in York or Sheriff Hutton. From 1547 the castle seems to have been occupied only spasmodically by the Council and declined since then.

South of the castle is Sheriff Hutton Park. The house was built by Sir Arthur Ingram in 1621, Sir Arthurs’s main house being Temple Newsom near Leeds. In 1637 the hall went to his third son Sir Thomas who removed large quantities of stone from the castle to build stables and a brewhouse (the Rangers House). Thus began the final decline of the castle. In the reign of Charles II the house was sold to the Thompson family. Originally the house was Jacobean in its architecture. This house still survives but about one foot inside the present Queen Anne exterior built in 1732.

Sheriff is the dominant conglomerate in Transnistria. Some claim, it is responsible for 60% of the GDP. The company was formed by two former KGB agents. Their occupation and rumoured engagement in trade between Russia on the one side and Moldova with easened access to the European market helped to get a grip on everything in Transnistria from a football team, supermarkets to liquor and gas stations.

It's autumn here in the UK and it's time to do some woodland fungi macro photography with the Pentax K1 and 100mm Macro Lens.

Autumn is a great time to photograph fungi and mushrooms in your local woodland as the warm days and cold nights with damp weather is the perfect conditions for fungi and mushrooms to grow on the woodland floor.

I was really keen to use the Autumn weather and the changing of the season to produce some fantasy inspired woodland macro mushroom fungi photography as part of the Pentax Youtube Photo Challenge youtu.be/naatqv8yPKs

And now for something completely different! I went on the Scott Kelby Worldwide Photo Walk today in Old Town Prescott. I got zapped by a time machine and found the local sheriff. He was very tired from transporting us lost souls back to the future. I did get a shot of him with my old daguerreotype camera before he zapped me back with the flick of his cigar!

Sorry About the Horrible Quality, taken with my cell phone.

I finally have info on this car! After a year of searching I have found it!

This is a Deputy Sheriff Car out of Meigs County, Ohio. Obviously this is not a Buckeye Sheriff's Association (BSA) scheme, the deputy makes his own stickers and works for the Juvenille Courts in Ohio. Most Juvenille Court Deputies drive unmarked cruisers but this Deputy made his own stickers and added them to the cruiser.
