Can't tell you why I did this in color other than that I thought it looked nicer. Don't really know what the deal was with these two but I think their expressions are great! And they're beautiful of course! Hope you like! :)
Olympus OM-D E-M5
Olympus M.45mm F1.8
A cold rainy day. I'll take the garbage out, but I'm not going to wander around out there with my camera.
I have a shot from Golden Ears Park. Maybe not that interesting to begin with? HDR'd. Three exposures merged in Photomatix. Processed the heck out of it in Lightroom. I read an article on Photoshop blur. I have been sitting inside for most of the day. I have a compulsion to post something to Flickr. I try the blur. Some further manipulations using Topaz Adjust. It probably qualifies for Slider Sunday, but it's only Monday evening. Here it is anyway! :-)
After moving this feeding station a couple of years ago, the squirrels haven't been able to access it. However, a few weeks ago, I noticed that all of the food from each feeder hanging upon it was disappearing at an unusually rapid pace. How can this be? Who could be eating so much food?
The culprit, young Robbie (Grey squirrel). Now, that I knew whom the culprit was, it was time to patiently try and figure out how he was gaining access to the station. Many have tried before him but all have failed.
I watched him for several days as he tried to access the station. He jumped from the ground in an attempt to reach the top of the baffle and nearly did several times. Now that's an athletic little guy. He jumped from a branch in oak two a few times but with no luck. What a daredevil, that branch is pretty high. He scurried up a cassia bush a few times and gave it a go. Oh so close Robbie, but no luck. Lastly he went up a palm tree and carefully walked out on a frond, jumped and missed. That day I watched as he repeated all four possibilities over and over. Hmmm nothing, he wasn't able to access the station while I was watching.
The next morning I looked out the window and Robbie was at the station devouring all of the food. I called shenanigans and watched as he went from feeder to feeder cleaning each one to the very last morsel.
After all, access was not an easy feat and I believed he deserved his treat. For the last time of course.
I never did figure out which of the four potential access points gave Robbie success. I was hoping it was the palm frond or the cassia, both would be an easy fix. I cut the palm frond and tied the cassia bush back. The cassia doesn't get cut backs until butterfly season is over because it's a host plant for sulfurs. So far so good. Robbie has not been able to access the station since that day.
Now don't go feeling sorry for this little daredevil. He and his little friends have access to plenty of food in my yard. They just need to stick to their allotted amount so I don't go broke.
Have a fantastic Friday and happy snapping.
Sandhill Cranes 1762
While the crane on the right stood by and watched with some interest, the crane on the left repeatedly threw things, including himself, into the air.

NCDOT races North out of Charlotte with an F59PH pair doing the honors. This was not my first, nor second, nor third spot of choice. But, it’ll do…
These Greater Yellowlegs seemed confused seemingly acting out a springtime ritual in early November. Or, perhaps it is just some shenanigans.
OK, maybe I'm in a bit of a rut, posting photos of Jasper's backyard shenanigans. But he's really been enjoying the cool weather and loves to catch that Flippy Flopper.

That's what some people call Shawnigan Lake, north of Victoria, where I live. I called this photo Shenanigan Lake because of the PhotoShop trickery I have employed. The top half of the photo is real, shot at Shawnigan Lake this Fall. The bottom half is not real. However, look at the large size and check out the shoreline. It looks pretty convincing. There's even a guy fishing. The house is cool as well.
Shenanigans in Shangan, 10 years ago, a look back at former Dublin Bus route 221, perhaps the shortest ever route & shortest ever operating route.
Introduced in Ballymun to compensate connections at Silloge & Shangan estates following the merger of routes 13 & 51 to a new super cross city route which changed routing.
Short hop route 221, was operated by Harristown Garage, usually an ALX400 class every 30 minutes on a Monday to Saturday timetable from 10.00 to 14.30 hrs, launching 3rd October 2011 & finishing up on 5th May 2012 ( above ).
Route 221 #memories
In the heart of midtown Toronto, Shenanigans is your friendly neighbourhood watering hole. Come in for a drink, a bite, and some good ol’ fashioned chin-wagging. Whether you’re catching up with long-lost friends, want to watch the game, or enjoy the views and brews on our seasonal rooftop patio overlooking Yonge and St. Clair, we’ve got you covered.
Feeling peckish? At Shenny’s, we’re all about life’s simple pleasures. Our chefs are dishing out a sensational spread of housemade burgers, wings, salads, and bowls. Rounded out by plenty of beers on tap, refreshing cocktails, and easy-drinking wines by the glass, who could ask for anything more?
This airborne Sandhill Crane is being silly jumping up and throwing a corn husk. I call it shenanigans.
Two classics meet on the old B&O Philly Sub back in 1994. A long-ago retired GE CSX C30-7 rolls a westbound auto parts train past a B&O CPL signal towards Bodymore at Belcamp, Maryland.
The Q297 had SD40-2 8042 and MP15AC 1168 along for the ride in this view from the then under-construction MD Route 523 Riverside Parkway overpass in Belcamp.
Today there is a massive chain link fence and constant traffic to deter taking such a shot.
Kat, Michael and I headed out to the Beaches for a soft, foggy sunrise shoot. So worth the 4:30am alarm clock.
The second wave of Indiana Jones vignettes has begun! I present to you the first scene of "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom," where Indy attempts to make an even of the remains of Nurhachi for a diamond with crime boss Lao Che. Things are soon to go south due to Indy's being poisoned and his trusty sidekick Wu Han biting the dust.
This build surprisingly took quite a while to construct due to my having to obtain just the right parts for the minifigures. There were also some delaying factors such as heavy storms and work that further delayed building time. Nonetheless, I forged on! :P
As usual, big thanks to the original geniuses of the HP collab for inspiration. Cheers!
