Another autumnal scene that grabbed my attention whilst exploring the Waterfall Walk in the Brecon Beacons National Park.
The light on the wet rocks and leaves was only fleeting, but highlighted the slender roots of the tree that somehow manage to keep it alive and healthy on this precarious shelf above the thundering falls.
Wednesday evening storms had some really cool clouds like this Shelf Cloud. Five exposure HDR processed with Nik HDR Efex Pro 2

I've been waiting ages to be able to use this title!
Local info: I couldn't drive up to the barn in my Ford Focus, I needed a Chelsea Tractor.
She knows she is not supposed to climb on my shelves of model trains so when she was caught she wasn't sure if she was in trouble or not. She turned on those Puss 'n Boots eyes to try and be a charmer. Who can say "No" to that face?

Late Sunday morning, a line of thunderstorms moved through the area, producing 58 mph winds and depositing 2 1/4" of rain in a short time. We could do without the heavy rain, but the shelf that led the storm, sure was a sight to behold.

I found these shelf mushrooms growing on our tree. Must of been from all the rain & humidity we were getting. I felt as I was in a forest & not the front yard.
After 2 days of driving through Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, and finally Minnesota, we reached the risk area; this was the shelf cloud on the edge of the storm that moved quite quickly over our heads. Not a spectacular storm in the end but we did see yet more lightning. We then drove to New Mexico, through South Dakota, Nebraska and Colorado.
THANKS FOR EVERYONE's COMMENTS!!!

This winter we had an interesting formation of shelf ice on the Lake that was shoved into a high pile by winter storm waves. Some folks exerted quite a bit of effort by rolling a snowman up the back side of the ice slope. He was left on his perch to survey the icy waters of Lake Michigan until his ice kingdom melted with the warmer weather.
Hope that you are having a good week!
Sam is a new arrival at the Kitty Cat Cafe, and is a bit shy. I found her up high on this shelf in the back room, where it is quieter. She's three years old and would make a wonderful pet for someone.
That portal behind her leads to the main room,
Our Daily Challenge 2-8 November: Bookcase/Bookshelf.
I found it very much trickier than I thought to make an interesting image.
I have hundreds of books which are mainly arranged by subject and size, so the choices are manifold
And of course its all flash indoors at the moment, which I HATE!
There is a slightly more creative one of a different shelf here www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/the-garden-in-winter/2651784
