after being gone almost a month, my daughter elora has returned from india....
my friend nathalie gave her an XA2 to take with to india because el wanted to shoot film.. this was shot in Udaipur using BW400CN film. i've never been a fan of this film in high-contrast light, but in this light it's simply amazing...

The task was to shoot a close-up of festive food so I chose the things my Doctor would not complain about me eating {Although she might make me take an extra statin)

When she came up and said hello, I thought she would ask for a cigarette or something, but she asked me to take a picture of her. I replied that we would not see each other again and I could not give her a photo. The answer was: “It doesn't matter. I do not have anyone. You can post this photo anywhere so anyone can see me." She didn't smile and I asked her to smile. The photo turned out just the way it was. On one side of us was a temple, on the other side was a hospital.

This year I tried growing some succulents in small pots in the back garden. Brought them inside for the winter and they now live in the kitchen window. This is one of them this morning, glowing in the morning sun. You can really see the glowing leaves when you zoom in. :-)

She was waiting for a shooting for an professinal photographer.
She was sitting on a stone near a water fall and the light was braking so beautiful on her face. I have had the honour to be at the photographers side during her shooting. I saw his pictures- perfect!
I always try to find this special thing in a person, the individuality. So it's really a question to all: Is a posing picture better? Without a blemish? Isn't the charisma that we all try to catch, or is it perfection?
