A very small aperture has been used in this photo to show the difference between a higher one. In this picture there is no depth of field effect(caused by a wide aperture ex: f/4.5), everything looks sharp. Using my camera in AV mode (Aperture Value) to quickly change it, I have also used my tripod, because with a very small aperture you will need to compensate with the shutter speed or ISO. In my case this picture took 8 seconds, therefore making it impossible handheld.
Testing out my new Raynox DCR-250 with my FZ20. This is about ~6x zoom I believe (about half telephoto). It's proven difficult to control the focus, since a lens this powerful renders the camera's focusing abilities practically useless. It basically involves locking the foucs and moving the camera closer/further from the subject, while keeping it still enough to remain sharp. Not to mention flooding your target area with light (especially since the camera body blocks so much light).
Also notice the extremely shallow DOF. You should see some of the full tele shots ;)
Taken out of the camera, minor tweeks to contrast. No sharpening. Is it almost too sharp?

*Disclaimer: since people will likely wonder how I obtained this hawk, it died by hitting a window on my aunt's house. It was chasing a robin at the time and both birds hit and died. Fish & Game instructed us to bury the animal, as it is illegal to possess all manner of deceased birds in Alaska. Before I buried the hawk, though, I took these scans of it - I didn't want its beauty to go to waste.
Civil Air Patrol Volunteers Supporting the Northern Illinois Airshow
Waukegan, IL —
Early Saturday morning, 32 Cadets and 14 Senior members from Civil Air Patrol’s Illinois Wing assembled at Waukeegan Airport to assist with ground operations at the Northern Illinois Airshow. The cadets, along with dozens of ROTC members, helped in a variety of positions from monitoring the flight line, to guarding aircraft, to recruiting new members.
With cool temperatures and overcast skies, the public came out in large numbers to get as close as possible to a wide variety of aircraft. Cadets and visitors alike spent time visiting everything from single engine trainers to WWII fighters and even a Boeing Business Jet. The show started with parachutes delivering the American flag during the national anthem and then proceeded into a series of aerobatic performances, jet flights, and even a jet-powered truck.
With thousands of visitors, the show relies on hundreds of volunteers to make their show so successful.

I was trying a quick and dirty pinhole on the Sony. Clearly a little TOO quick and dirty.
Columbian Sharp-tailed Grouse acting coy. a hard bird in Utah to see, only being common in rural areas near the Idaho border.
I tried the Project 365 and didnt get very far though it was fun... so I figured a New Year, a new try and I will try harder!
