Mobile Journalism Conference, Convention Centre Dublin. Broadcaster Shadi Rahimi spoke about her experience as a #MoJo reporter for Al Jazeera, giving examples from her coverage of the #Ferguson riots in the USA.
Later, at the storytelling session, I noticed her sitting on the floor at the back of the conference hall, probably filing a report. It was pretty dark and I saw her face lit up by the screen light. I wasn't sure I'd get much of a shot in the darkness but you can judge the result for yourself.
ISO 2500, handheld, 1/35. For low light work, I'm beginning to love this new Fuji 16-55mm f2.2 lens in the way I enjoy the Canon 85mm 1.4 and the 135mm.

Taken sometime in the mid 1990es.
I don't remember how I achieved the weird colours. I assume I used a daylight film in tungsten light, probably with coloured filters on both the light as well as the camera. It's also likely that I pushed the film a stop or two and even cross processed it. But I am only guessing.
Sadly I have misslaid the film. All I have to go on is this scan from 2003.
I am well aware that this is technically a "bad" photo. But personally I love it. Mostly because of Shadis wonderful expression.

We did this with the Canon G9 in Hi-Sync mode, set to tungsten WB, with three SB's. Two SB's were rim lights, unfiltered, and a third hit him in the face with a CTO plus an additional 1/2 CTO for color.
