Mittelalterliches Städtchen mit faszinierender Geschichte
Weesen, in vorchristlicher Zeit eine rätische, später eine römische Dauersiedlung, wurde im Mittelalter alemannisch und kyburgisch. Nach 1283 kam es in den Besitz der Habsburger und wurde ein wichtiger Zoll- und Umschlagplatz. Im Jahr 1388 wurde die eidgenössische Besatzung in der geschichtlich bedeutsamen Mordnacht im Städtchen Weesen umgebracht. Nach der Schlacht bei Näfels brannte die Stadt schliesslich nieder.
Bis 1798 stand Weesen unter der Herrschaft von Schwyz und Glarus. Mit der Eröffnung der Bahnlinie Zürich-Uster-Weesen-Sargans im Jahr 1859 begann für Weesen eine touristische Blütezeit. Das Parkhotel Schwert, der älteste Gasthof am Walensee, ist erstmals Ende des 14. Jahrhunderts erwähnt.

Von seiner eindrücklichen Geschichte geprägt ist Weesen heute ein bezauberndes Städtchen mit beschaulichen Gässchen, gemütlichen Restaurants und Cafés und vielfältigen Einkaufsmöglichkeiten. Die idyllische Lage zwischen See und Berg macht Weesen zu einem erstklassigen Ort für einen erholsamen Urlaub am Walensee.

The Hong Lim Complex was built in 1977 and was one of the first high-rise buildings in Singapore's Chinatown area. It is a mixed-use development that comprises 30 floors of commercial space and residential units on the upper floors.
