Standard sensitizer (Silver Nitrate + Ferric Oxalate in equal proportions) on Hahnemühle Platinum Rag (8x10").
Digital neg with optimized UV-blocking colors.
Exposed in UV light box for 5 min.
Developed in Henry Hall's developer from 1903 (Sodium Acetate + a touch of Tartaric Acid), rinsed in 3% Citric Acid, prefix toned in Platinum toner (Moersch 1+10) and finally fixed in Fomafix for 1-1,5 min.

Singing Honeyeater "is relatively common and is widespread right across Australia west of the Great Dividing Range, through to the west coast and on Western Australian coastal islands. It does not occur in other countries." (Wikipedia)
I do not come across this species very often and this is only my second capture of this bird published on Flickr. I had a few long sessions with the Singing Honeyeaters of Sorrento several weeks ago. This is the closest I could get to one of them: subject distance 2.99 m. I still wonder how I managed to focus my 500mm lense the head. I could not step back withouth falling off the slope...

In May 1985, I had a day to kill between training sessions in Portland, Oregon. For fun, I took a short roundtrip on Amtrak's Pioneer to The Dalles. If all went well, it would be a day for twos - a two hour ride east, a two hour layover in The Dalles, and a two hour return to Portland.
The 86-mile ride through the Columbia River Gorge was pleasant. As I detrained in The Dalles, the only other person to get off the train was an Amtrak cook. She worked out of Seattle, assisting with breakfast and lunch in the diner. When train 25 arrived from the east, she would work the dinner service on the return to Seattle.
There was an Arctic Circle restaurant in The Dalles across the street from where Amtrak stopped. After I had lunch there, I walked around downtown for a bit. The westbound Pioneer was within a few minutes of being on time for the ride back to Portland. As it slowed for the station stop, I snapped this image of the train on the westward main.
Note the sign placed on the eastward main to help the eastbound Pioneer's engineer spot his train. Naturally, there's a fair amount of ETTS in this image. The large grain elevator in the background is gone now, and the Pioneer ceased operation in 1997.

One of those photo sessions that is hard to forget because of the species, Red Knot (Calidris canutus) in breeding plumage and because of how much fun it was. In some cases they were feeding so close to my position that the very noise of the camera shutter scared them out of the frame.

My first time checking out Kate Sessions Park. Nice view of the city but it helps to have a clear night and a long lens. I shot this with the Sony a7RII and an adapted Canon 70-200mm lens.
The County Sessions House stands at the bottom of Islington in Liverpool, Merseyside, England, to the east of the Walker Art Gallery. It is a designated Grade II listed building.
The courthouse was built between 1882 and 1884.

While backpacking through Java, Indonesia I visited the out of the way 'Ijen Crater lake' set in a complex of volcano's that tower the eastern Javan terrain.
At 2700m the sulphuric acid lake has a Ph of 0.5 where pure water lies at 7.0. Locals mine sulphur from the edge of the lake and in the process of cooling the sulphur with water they create this huge plume of smoke and steam.
For approximately 80kg of sulphur removed from the crater the workers get $9. Its very labour intensive and back breaking work.
Originally thought to have been built in 1691 by Thomas Sessions the first owner of the lot it sits on. Research now proves it was built in 1766 by Matthew Pope a doctor. One of the finest examples of colonial brickwork.

The We're Here! gang is soaking in the views from a chair. In this case, The top pano shows most of our family room. Bottom left is the view to the right, looking through the kitchen towards the living room. Bottom centre is the view behind me -- the balcony looking towards downtown. The bottom right is the chair in which I was sitting to get these shots.
Kate Sessions was a horticulturist, landscape architect, educator, and nursery and flower shop owner who oversaw the planting of hundreds of eucalyptus, oak, pepper, and many other varieties of trees in Balboa Park. She is honored elsewhere in San Diego, including at a school in Pacific Beach and a nearby Park there.

Something that I always have come up as a message to myself when I perform a tarot reading is that I should take some time to have a repair session, to allow myself the time to repair both on the inside and outside and to be able to begin a new cycle of life that may come ahead of me... and this lockdown I think has been the biggest way of doing this.
I found myself sitting for a few hours each day and just thinking - no distractions and allowing myself to filter through many random and small elements that I’ve never given the time of day too before due to being so flat out doing so much of my life! 🙈 it’s something that was well needed but eye opening too.
I feel that the process of healing wounds both physically and mentally and healing your mind is a great way to keep yourself strong when in this circumstances, find a space in your house, switch the world off and all areas of your mind, your thoughts, your worries, yours dreams up high. Live it all and feel them, but please never ever feel secluded or alone, you are becoming stronger, you are worthy to feel those things and ultimately, when all of this has past, we will be stronger people for it!
