My sister on the right, serving food to my now passed away uncle, a few years back. He is also on the right seated behind my sister.
Remember that last time I made you miss your damn plane?
Remember that last time I wet you down with champagne
And I know that I've been the worst
But I love you better
If you let me
Let's catch a flight, change the weather
And I promise forever

this took me... 3 days to do, but I'm going to be overdramatic and complain about it taking forever :> I mainly just kept putting it off and getting distracted but after having cinnamon rolls and being overly hyper I FINALLY FINISHED IT!
heres the good ol before and aftah
I did a lotta new shit for this pic, as stated in the title, it's just practice. I use my OC Bane for a lot of practices since I don't really have male-focused sponsors and it gives me somewhat of a challenge :3 I'm ALWAYS happy to share what i've learned and I have a whole server dedicated to blogging, photography, and SL in general! If you'd like to join and learn, or just act a damn fool with me, come join love <3 DVISION
I kinda forgot what im wearing but I know I have on CryBunBun and DURA and ThisIsWrong aaaaaaand Avarosa SOOOO... do what you will with that information. I'll give the rest of the credits when I'm awake :')

I have always granted myself the freedom to exercise artistic license and pursue whatever brings me joy. Currently, shots from my cellphone and digital AI artwork fulfill that purpose, at least for the time being.

A commission replica of Sermon Audio's Vault--their new set of servers where upwards of 2 million sermons are stored.
This was real fun to build, very different from anything I've done before, and hands down my largest commission yet. Got a working red light in there and loads of crazy SNOT work behind the scenes! It's on display now at the BJU library so if you're in Greenville, stop by and check it out!
Plus, custom kits of one of these racks may be coming soon(TM) if I can figure out how to simplify the building process well enough...

This 5+ year old server contains our Moodle Virtual Learning Network software...It runs on entirely free and open source software (CentOS, Apache, php, Moodle, and Mahara) and cost us exactly $0 in hardware and software costs. Moodle provides an extremely powerful virtual learning environment which serves as an online extension of the classrooms of some of our teachers. Mahara is the ePortfolio tool that we're beginning to dabble with a little bit as well (imagine a space where every student can share his/her work samples from year to year...this is what Mahara can do).
I wasn't sold on this originally as my photo of the day, but have grown to like it a bit.
Here at Opscode Austin, we've got a bit of a private cloud in the works. These are my test machines for deploying OpenStack and other applications with Chef.
We've been talking, and Honey Lemon & Space Cadet SL have decided to start a Discord server to make our brands more accessible to everyone!

Super excited to see my first custom kit hit shelves. I worked with Sermon Audio to create a replica of their servers and after doing a large commission model we scaled down for a kit that you can purchase and assemble yourself. I did my best to make the building process an enjoyable one, there's some interesting LEGO math going on behind the scenes. Really fun experience to think not only how others would interact with the final product, but how they'd experience the build process. Makes me appreciate official LEGO sets all the more!

Server detail for the TBB Server Downtime Contest. I had this lying around for months without knowing what to use them for. I still don't, but at least I got to use them for the contest :)
This Red-tailed Hawk looked as though he was "serving" the duck in lower right corner, instead of dining on it. Taken 1/14/10. Went back to the hard drive for this one.
In Europe and Asia you will see servers hustling patrons into patio spaces. Rarely would you see this in Canada but with COVID-19 restrictions, outdoor patios are the only way businesses can operate dine-in service. This practice of hustling customers to tables has now emerged in Vancouver!
My old server machine started locking up frequently, and I couldn't isolate the cause. (I think I narrowed it down to the motherboard or CPU itself.) Rather than spend a small fortune swapping out components, I decided a "new" PC was in order.
I found this refurbished Dell Optiplex 7050 online for about $200. It came with 32GB RAM and a new 500GB NVMe drive. There's room in the SFF case for a single 3.5" hard drive, so I installed one of my old 2TB drives. I'll probably buy a larger SATA drive on sale during Black Friday, as SMART reports that it's been running for 9+ years (that's actual total UP time - not merely its age)!
Anyway, I've installed Linux Mint 21.2. This morning I got file and print sharing configured for everyone on our home network again. It's also running Folding@Home, but on the lowest setting. These SFF cases are nice, but cooling is an issue. I'm definitely pushing it on the CPU temp, but staying well below critical.
Of course, I have all my figurines set up around it. I own my geekiness. :)

We IceCube Winter-Overs here at South Pole have to administrate all the 200+ servers in the IceCube Lab (ICL) building. When the lights are off the server room looks almost like Christmas does ;)
So, as you can most probably guess, I've taken up digital building. Now, this may come as a bit of a shock to some of you, but it was quite a logical choice really. I hardly ever properly finish builds, let alone photograph the, so building digitally is the best way for me to actually finish stuff, and try out techniques I'd never usually get a chance to experiment with.
So, moving swiftly on, here's the first digital build that's not only spread out enough so you can actually see it, but is something I'm actually, properly, happy with. As most people on the Brickrealms discord server know, I have a wee bit of an addiction to Tardis console rooms. Though I have about 6 in real life, 4 of which actually complete, they're all a bit basic, with exception to the most recent 2. Now this, this is not only finished, but fairly interesting too. I won't lie, I have no idea how I came up with this, just that I wanted an interesting console design, as a result, it doesn't have a fancy name or anything (naming thing's really isn't a strength of mine) So a few nights ago, I came up with an incredible overcomplicated console design. It needed a room, so wallah! I've even used some stuff I've made before, just to see if I could (you may recognise the tables from a previous furniture post). It's got a kinda Chinese look to it, which I only say as the gate pieces behind the arches really evoke that kinda feel to it. Plus I had a really nice lil bamboo plant that sadly didn't make the render, as the parts didn't exist in mecabricks. You can also see a Doctor by the console, who I only really added so you can see who pilots this Tardis. He probably won't be appearing again, just an excuse to use more interesting minifig designs I can't currently make in real life.
Now, I must thank Space Glove for being an absolute legend of a guy and rendering this build for me, as well as helping me work out the ins and outs of mecabricks, in the hope I'll one day be able to do some half decent renderings of my own. I should also thank Cagerrin for helping me with LDD stuff, and for starting me on this whole 'digital building' thing. Also Gunnbuilding, for inspiring me with his truly awesome Tardis builds, which made me want to come up with even more designs of my own.
So, with the build displayed and everyone thanked, that brings the talking bit to an end. As always, please lemme know what you think, and if you'd like to see more digital building from me in the future :D
I made this picture for the Inria contest on "Computing: past, present, and future". The abacus is, to me, the birth of computing.
I borrowed a camera with a very fast lens, and went to the server room of our research center, where I played finding a spot for the abacus in the middle of the computing equipment. A large numerical aperture gave me a short depth of field, turning the lights in a nice bokeh.
I did fairly little post-processing, using darktable as always. I used a local contrast filter on the abacus itself, and pushed the colors in the top right of the photo toward green.
