Can something be a self portrait if it doesn't look anything like you?

Either way, big mood.

Skypen über die Strasse, nach Paris und Amerika. Selektive Einblicke in Leben von Menschen irgendwo auf der Welt. Zurückdenken und sich erinnern, wie man früher fühlte. Die Zukunft planen und meinen zu wissen, wie es sich anfühlen wird.

Empathie. Das Wissen um die Welt und alle Orte, die ich kenne. Die Klarheit darüber, dass ich mich nicht immer so fühle wie jetzt.

Und trotzdem kann ich nicht aus meiner Perspektive ausbrechen: Ich. Hier. Jetzt. Mein Empfinden und meine Wahrnehmung der Welt in diesem Moment, meine Realität.

I can't adequately describe to those of you who, like me, are unaccustomed to desert heat, just how hot it feels in a desert. Water was a precious commodity. Sweat, not so much. To the fairer skinned among us: sunblock with an SPF of 2500+ is not overkill.
