Someone from Detective Inspector John Steadman’s past hated or feared him enough to hire professional killers to murder him and his wife. The hit was carried out with ruthless efficiency, except for one detail. The bullet that smashed into Steadman’s skull left him blind, but still alive - and still equipped with one of the finest minds in the force. As Steadman learns to live with the loss of his sight, his fearless pursuit of the criminal fraternity continues unabated. But to achieve his ultimate goal – to bring to justice the man who robbed him of his vision and his wife - he has nothing to go on except a chilling series of nightmares and a voice; a voice he feels sure he has heard somewhere before.

The little cottage stood out against a bleak skyline, forlorn, empty, neglected and overgrown. After a three-year search, could it be just what a retired English couple were looking for as a holiday home of their own? A magical holiday to rural France with their children some years before had sowed the seeds of a daring plan for Brenda and Ray Barrington – to spend the early years of their retirement buying and restoring a cottage in the French countryside for use as a maison secondaire. Their budget and time were limited, but their enthusiasm and determination were boundless. The couple soon found themselves deeply engrossed in their dream project and discovering the full ramifications of owning a rural property deep in the land of wine and haute cuisine.

Fiona Goldsby has emerged triumphant from the terrifying experience of suffering a serious brain tumour. She found very little written material was available to help her in her battle, so she has written Tallulah Tumour, Friend or Foe? to help others dealing with a similar diagnosis. It is intended to provide information about what the patient may expect, with hints and tips to deal with the various side effects. The information in the book will not only be helpful to patients but to caregivers and family members. And as you may guess from the title, there is plenty of humour as well. Profits from sales of this book will be donated to the Macmillan Cancer Support charity.
