The Halloween Retrospect library is happy to offer publications as guidebooks on the subject of vintage Halloween collectibles. New for 2023-2024 are the softcover books series The Halloween Retrospect, Volume 1 and The Halloween Retrospect, Volume 2 which accompany and support the on-site archive collection of vintage objects.
Volume 2 features articles on how and why to decipher Dennison publication serial numbers, and shorter articles on Shackman catalogs, E Rosen sucker cards, and the German imports seen on the cover. Monrovia Canyon Park is Monrovia's Backyard. Trees from this canyon were sawed in "Saw Pit" canyon and used in the building of the San Gabriel Mission. The last major fire was in 1924. In a more recent fire Firemen assembled in what is called "Fireman Flats". The photos in this series were taken in March 2003 after heavy rains, They are from Trask Bridge to the Falls.

Raised in Germany during the Hitler years, Mathilde Schmidt had two wishes: to go to a university and to leave Germany for America. Both of these wishes were granted, but her path was not an easy one. She was often confronted with obstacles and even had to endure life-threatening situations. Only her positive attitude, her persistence, and her belief in her own personal "Guardian Angel" pulled her through. When she finally managed to attend a university, she was stopped by the last months of World War II and became a prisoner of war. She was eventually released and sent back to her home country, where her life was threatened by the bombs exploding around her. After the war's devastation she immigrated to the United States where she married, raised a family, continued her studies, and finally became a teacher. Now a grandmother in her eighties with a large extended family, she has written and published her autobiography, from which she read.

"Arvor is a dragon. He is actually a very nice dragon who would much rather play on his guitar or work on his science project than fly around breathing out fireballs. You see Arvor is a pupil at Caderbrith – the well-known school for dragons on Cader Idris in Wales. Arvor is also a little clumsy and quite small compared to the other dragons so they don’t want him on their team when they play Egger. This means Arvor has a bit of time to do other things, like stay out of trouble. It’s just that sometimes he’s in the wrong place at the right time…
