Since 2012 I have taken it upon myself to embark upon the some might say foolhardy endeavour to wrestle Valentine’s Day away from its saccharine, cellophane wrapped cliches into a festival of love which is about all kinds of love, just like those wise old ancient Greeks told us

I decided to do that the first year by dashing around London with my mates Asif and Chris dispensing home-made Valentine Day cards, cakes and other love themed items to unsuspecting strangers. It was amazing. You can see a little film of that day here: vimeo.com/58022085

Since then, every year, I put a shout out on social media to anyone who knows anyone who would appreciate a card to remind them that they are loved. So far, I have made and posted 600 Valentine’s cards. I have also covered railings, phone boxes, windows and park benches with paper hearts, chalked love poems onto roads and written love poems with seniors in sheltered housing.

if you see this, and you fancy it, join in!

Write to someone you love who you might not tell enough, someone who needs to be reminded that they are loved, especially if they are lonely or having a difficult time at the moment. Could be your partner, your sibling, your best friend, your nan, your newsagent, your teacher . Think about who might need this the most right now. You can write a letter, postcard, hand make a card, send a postcard, the “rules” are:

The “Rules”

Post it with an actual stamp if this is possible for you- why? Just because it is so much nicer getting stuff that isn’t bills through the post.

Take your time with what you want to say and make it personal, think about how they will feel when they receive it (obvious I know but we all do things too quickly sometimes)

Ask them to pass the love on by writing in turn to someone they love and telling them so, and so beginning a love chain, which may, if we are lucky, never end, reminding us all of who we love and how much we are loved

(if you need it, here are some suggested words: “hope you like your message- I am trying to do my bit to pass love around the world- if you can please write to someone you love too, and we can keep this love chain travelling round the world and make sure everyone knows how much they are loved”

Summing up (because I know I go on a bit!)

1.Write to someone and tell them you love them. Post or hand deliver your message.

2.Ask them to do the same

3.Remind yourself of the things you love about yourself too*

* Let’s not forget this one : philautia (self love): as well as writing to someone to tell them you love them, take a moment this V Day to think about what you love about yourself. This can feel squirmy sometimes, try just thinking of 3 things to start with (3 is a magic number) that you love about yourself. If you find it hard to think of things, that’s ok, ask a good friend to help you think of things. Loving ourselves is important too.

“The most authentic thing about us is our capacity to create, to overcome, to endure, to transform, to love and to be greater than our suffering.” Ben Okri

“And may your first love last forever.

P.S. You are your first love. Take care of yourself.”

Went to an art exhibition with my #beau the other day. Having given away much of my stuff this past year, I didn't really have anything to wear and ditched the excuse that I couldn't #design and make anything because I didn't have the space. So, this candy colored skirt was made from my #mind to #sketch to #reality overnight, from my bedroom. No drafting table, no sewing table- rather my bed, pillows, a tiny chair, and the knowing that it would turn out exactly as it did. Doing what I #love and loving what I do🙏 #noexcuses #blessed #creative #freespirit #artist #designer #writer #childoftheuniverse #holisic #coach & #healer, no longer trying to do or be anything except #mybeautifulself You too, ok? Just be #You❤🙏🌞 #eft #meditation #yoga #selfhealing #selflove #truth #belief #faith #life

Photo before coffee and splashing water on my face.

Message for my future self: Thank you so much for making all the little choices that turn us into such good friends. Thank you for being real, being true. For softening and opening your heart. For letting your wild heart be exactly as it is! Love you!

My first clone shot! And a happy 100 days to me! This was spur of the moment, just to see if I could figure it out. I think I get the concept, so I will attempt some cooler ideas.

This fit me for tonight, as I am trying to spring clean my kitchen.

This may not be true all the time, but it's definitely true when I can just be myself...t-shirt, jeans, and the center of attention!

I have been going on "Wisdom Walks" lately. Connecting to nature, appreciating the beauty around me, feeling the bliss and joy of that. It's truly intoxicating.

Then, I can turn those appreciative thoughts towards others or things in my life and also, inward. This is a very healing process, and it also puts me in the "receiving mode". The place where inspiration flows, and the thoughts I get are either telling me what direction to focus on in my art or just in general in my life.

During this particular hike, I kept noticing triangles. Then that got me thinking about my screen name. -zentrinity. Then, the biblical Holy Trinity. The Father, The Son and the Holy Spirit.

I realized, how brilliant this explanation of God and is, how it really is describing us. It relates to my understandings of the Universe and how Life for us works.

God, or Source... is the ultimate Creator. We are made in his image and likeness. This means that we are also creators. We each are creating our own lives. And collectively we co-create with each other.

The Holy Trinity is this:

The Father = God or Source Energy

The Son = Sentient Beings or Humans in the flesh ( Us )

The Holy Spirit = Your Inner Being that is God/Source, the part of you that is never disconnected from God/Source

We all have connection to the most pure, the most positive direct connection to God/Source within us. We all access it from time to time. You can tell if you are accessing it by how you feel. Life is supposed to be JOYFUL. We are supposed to follow our feelings as tools that allow us to know whether or not we are hooked into that Divine Energy that is constantly flowing, or if we have resistance in the way that is blocking it. You can tell by how you feel.

And it's perfectly OK to NOT be constantly connected. There is a reason for the moments where we lose that direct connection. It's perfect that we can experience contrast, ( yin yang, dualistic world ) It's a necessary part of what makes the Universe work. It fuels evolution, the ever forward moving motion that is the Universal expansion.

February 13, 2022: I took this #photo and made this #collage at just after midnight. The text is from a @mikedooleytut e-mail that was the first e-mail I received today. “By simply choosing to be #joyful… it’s physically impossible to get #angry, #fret, #stew, or #worry.” It’s a message I know, and have heard before. But it’s a #message I forget more often than not to practice in my own life. It fits so perfectly with what @gary_zukav says about being emotionally aware through #mindfulness, about being able to see how we feel and to make responsible #choices about how we act on those #feelings.

I felt so tired last night, but I was also so restless. It’s like I was so out of it yesterday that my monkey mind was keeping me awake with my worries and with my thoughts of how horrible I am as a human being.

I finally started to take down the Christmas tree yesterday. While I did this, I started listening to @brenebrown’s @soundstrue audiobook MEN, WOMEN & WORTHINESS: THE EXPERIENCE OF SHAME AND THE POWER OF BEING ENOUGH. In it, Dr. Brown provides a strong definition of #SHAME and #GUILT, as follows:

“SHAME: is a sense that we are bad. That there’s something about us, that we’ve done or failed to do, that makes us #unworthy of #love, of #acceptance, of belonging... ‘I am bad.’ … Shame is a focus on self… ‘I’m such an idiot, I’m such a #loser…I’m stupid, I’m a loser. I’m an idiot.’ … Shame is ‘I am a mistake’… There’s something profoundly, deeply wrong with who I am… Shame is highly correlated with (the dangerous outcomes of) addiction, #depression, eating disorders, suicide, violence… Shame is being held up against the ideal, that somehow we can live lives and edit them as we are living them, so that what the world only sees is what’s perfect about us.”

“GUILT: is not a focus on who we are, but on something we have done... I did something bad… Guilt is a focus on behaviour…. ‘I can’t believe I did that. That was a really stupid thing to do… I did something that doesn’t fit with who I want to be.’ …“

I think it would be a good exercise to break down some of my more negative subverted #selfie posts, like the one I posted yesterday, where I dump on myself.
