Been a little bit since I did a selfie, and I wanted to play a bit with black and white portraiture, so I set up the strobes, plopped myself down in front of our piano, and played a bit. I think this one actually worked out pretty well, even if I am pretty scruffy from being 6 or 7 days into letting the beard fill in.
Nikon D7000 w/Nikkor 50mm ƒ/1.8 prime, 1/250@ ƒ/2.8, ISO100. One SB-700 just to the right of frame firing perpendicular to my face through a white umbrella, 1/20 power, 70mm zoom; second SB-700 to the left of the frame, firing through a white umbrella towards the piano, 1/40 power, 18mm zoom. Basic RAW processing and slight crop in Aperture, with the black & white treatment in Nik Silver Efex (starting with the “Fine Art Process” preset, with a few additional tweaks on top of it.)
Sunday is day off for Philipinas, working as housemaids in Singapore. These girls enjoy their spare time at the Botanic Gardens.
"Cloud Gate is a reflective steel sculpture that is inspired by liquid mercury; the sculpture's surface reflects and distorts the city's skyline. The curved, mirror-like surface of the sculpture provides striking reflections of visitors, the city skyline (particularly the historic Michigan Avenue "streetwall") and the sky. Visitors are able to walk around and under Cloud Gate's 12-foot (3.7 m) high arch. On the underside is the "omphalos" (Greek for "navel"), a concave chamber that warps and multiplies reflections. The sculpture builds upon many of Kapoor's artistic themes and is popular with tourists as a photo-taking opportunity for its unique reflective properties." - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Millennium_Park#AT.26T_Plaza_and_Cl...
