This year has been a non-stop adventure. It is amazing how much can change in a single year. I didn't think last year could be topped, but I was wrong. I have met a lot of amazing people who have marked my life with lasting memories.
When I started to set up for this photo I started thinking about a certain phrase of lyrics:

I believe that in order to unleash who you truly are you cannot be afraid to be different or stand out. Granted, I realize that my extrovert self is saying that but if there is one thing that I have learned while being a marketer for a start-up real estate company is that being different WAS EXACTLY what we needed to do. Since I resigned my full-time marketing position and delved into art full-time, I have been FORCING myself to do things that are normally out of my comfort zone. .
You see, one of my greatest challenges is battling complacency and procrastination. It is so easy to say, “There will be a next time or I will do it tomorrow.” But tomorrow stays as tomorrow and life rides along with outcomes that are “just good enough”. .
So, what better way to step out of your comfort zone than by taking a skull in your carry-on bag on your next plane ride?

I've always enjoyed coloring and this design is my favorite one so far. Simple image...yet lots of little shapes to color.
This was done with Prismacolor colored pencils...which are nice pencils to work with.
My goal is to do at least one creative thing daily for the next year.
The black and white image is from the book "Coloring Mandalas - For Insight, Healing, and Self-Expression" by Susanne F. Fincher.
There are 48 circle designs in the book, and they are designed for people of all ages.

I think this quarantine is bringing out of us a completely unexpected side. For some, the slow down might be much needed and for some, this entire situation might be hell on Earth.
This past week has given me a lot of time to think and breath (which I am so grateful for). I already tend to retreat to my home a lot, so being home all day every day isn’t all that unusual for me. What is utterly weird is not being able to go to the gym and see my friends and students. I struggled with that a lot for the first part of my quarantine. Now, I have come to terms with it being our new normal for a few weeks. That doesn’t mean that I don’t have ideas for bringing fitness to them (as soon as I get my spin bike delivered!). I do really miss teaching Cycle but the break has been welcomed. I am working on catching up with photoshoots (some are three years old!), spending more time with hubby, spending more time with my fur babies, journaling more on what I want to do with my life moving forward and Skyping more with my parents :) For some, this break probably has been hell. We’re in this situation together across the globe. To those who have lost someone to COVID-19 or have been directly affected by the virus, I am sending you so much love. I have no idea what you are personally going through, but know that at least one person is thinking about you in this moment.
