We'll return to my collection of bird-photos. The more photos I edit, the more I realise, my bird-photography is more of a "documentation", than it is a story-telling exercise. When I go back to the Kruger, I will strive to find more opportunities where there is movement, action, and thus a more compelling story to tell, than just a bird sitting in a branch :) More improvement work to be done, more to learn !
That said, I am very pleased with how well the super early mornings, and late afternoons produce this beautiful soft light, and let me play with a variety of bokehs, that I hadn't had the eye for in the past.

A host of spectacular, luminous-blue icebergs drift through Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon. Even when you’re driving along, expecting this surreal scene, it’s still a surprise.
The icebergs calve from an offshoot of Glacier Vatnajökull. They can spend up to five years floating in the deep waters of the lagoon, drifting inexorably towards the Atlantic Ocean.

I caught a small movement in the high grass, a good 30m away from the road and a glimpse of something brownish between the green.
This little Waterbuck was hiding in the grass, but no worries, his mother was not to far away.

The Icelandic word "víti" means "hell". In former times, people often believed hell to be under volcanoes. The crater Víti has a green lake inside of it.
There are two famous craters with that name. This one is near Krafla.
The formidable cliffs of Lómagnúpur rise 767 m above sea level. They are the highest cliffs in Iceland, and impossible to climb. For the most part the mountain consist of palagonite, with some lava layers and sediments.
The sea has been at the feet of these cliffs several times, the most recent was right after the last Ice Age 10,000 years ago. Now the sea is 22 km away from Lómagnúpur.
So the Ring Road, where we drive as we pass this mountain, is now where there was once the ocean bed.
A selfdrive option might make better economic sense plus you have better control over where you want to go.
When you arrive in Fukuoka, source for the best deal at any rental car company. Be sure to get a GPS (Global Positioning System) with an English menu. Also ask about the ETC (Electronic Toll Collection) card and charges.

Saw one of the new Fully Autonomous Jaguar I-PACE electric SUV's. You can now schedule a ride with no driver in the car. Amazes me this is possible and right in front of me.

Tracking and finding your first male lion yourself was one of the coolest moments of my journey through Botswana! I love these private encounters!
In the southern part of the Kruger National Park there is a small step at a river crossing, that allows a view that is equivalent to eye-level hide. Here we have come face to face with a crocodile and many more. Relaxing when there is little tourist traffic, annoying when it is busier.
Of course, I didn't want to miss this opportunity, when a dragonfly like this one on the serving plate is just waiting for you.
With the collected pictures of the dragonflies and damselflies alone, you could create your own folder and show just a small part of the flyers from southern Africa.
We have been 5 weeks to Namibie and Botswana. A wonderful trip. This was the first image I took driving to the Kalahari Dessert!
