it's weird.. i got back today from my trip to kitimat tonight and for the first time in.. a really long time. i really miss home. even though it generally annoyed me a lot.. i miss it. strange and love-filled weekend. saw family i havent seen for ten years. got sort of stood up twice. got delicious meals cooked for me. yelled at my mom a bit. played with the dogs. five days. back to vancouver life again..

I decided to remake "Wanderer Above the Sea of Fog" and decided to put in two characters from the video game "Dark Souls III" because in the lore the knight had to defeat the giant guy because he made a promise to defeat him if he ever turned against him. In "Wanderer Above the Sea of Fog" the original painting's meaning was self-reflection or contemplation of life's path. So I took that lore from the video game and turned it into the remake project as the knight has a challenge ahead of him because that's what his path led him since he has to defeat his long-time friend.

I came home early today because I went to work very early to assist with some maintenance. All the extra daylight is awesome. If only I wasn't so tired.

I like to think this dog is doing a bit of self-reflection and wondering what his life has become. Sitting there in the cold, outside a pretentious coffee shop, wearing that ridiculous jacket, and waiting for his owner to purchase a $8 latte when all he really wants is sniff the butt of that other dog walking across the street.

Just to prove that boys can do self-portraits too. One day soon I might even include my head.

I love the look on his face, like "Who am I?!" I think we should all do this every now and then. He was spot on.
